That's a very moving comment, J DJ. I suspect you're hearing a deep reality in the music. At this time of his life, Schubert was already ill, poor and largely alone - though this was one of the few late masterpieces that he actually got to hear performed by some friends. Perhaps he felt that, hearing them play it for him. I wish you many more moments with Schubert.

Oh ! Monsieur le violoncelliste ! Quelle virtuosité ! Quel bonheur ! Et surtout quelle émotion. Le violoncelle est au sommet de la dramaturgie. Je reconnais avoir une réelle passion pour le pianoforte, la tristesse et tendresse du violon, le hautbois qui les accompagne si bien, mais le violoncelle me prends « comment dirais-je « aux tripes. But because it does this, I can longer pretend that this darkness does not exist. I have to acknowledge the darkest part of my soul. Which is the bittersweet and beauty of this song- it shows reveals the darkness within, but brightens it ever-so slightly.

I played it on CZcams for my sister and her husbond on New Years Eve 2016. And then it changed my life. Because they loved it. Sometimes it is easy.

Un des rare moment ou nous ne faisons qu'un avec l'univers , être ici et maintenant unis dans l'instant avec dieu... C'est ça le génie qui s'exprime quelques foi en l'homme...
Je ne suis pas croyant mais je confirme que cela me parle de l'univers.
Mon Dieu quelle merveille , Schubert comprend l'isolation. la solitude, et l'imparable depouillement que l'epidemie presente nous fait subire ...que Dieu aie son ame ainsi que celles de toutes les pauvres victimes de cette epidemie
la pandémie est ( légèrement ) mortelle
la musique de Schubert est immortelle
Ouais enfin Schubert il a quand même vécu a une période un peu plus troublée que la notre... faut arrêter, le Covid c'est peut être grave à notre echelle, mais à l'echelle de ce qu'a eu à subir l'humanité c'est une broutille, rien du tout.

This is such a hauntingly beautiful piece. The best way I can describe it is by saying that it makes the darkest part of my soul feel emotion. It makes the darkest part of my soul happy. But because it does this, I can longer pretend that this darkness does not exist. I have to acknowledge the darkest part of my soul. Which is the bittersweet and beauty of this song- it shows reveals the darkness within, but brightens it ever-so slightly.

@@grevberg Yes Uno, lots of music out there, but what I mean, really, how many tunes has changed your life? This tune changed my life, and I know exactly when it did so. I played it on CZcams for my sister and her husbond on New Years Eve 2016. And then it changed my life. Because they loved it. Sometimes it is easy.
