Gravity is a very special song for her, she cried singing to that song on her concert that is why she took a deep breath to be able to execute the song the way she wanted it to sounds like
Starlight and Gravity are my 2 favorite songs of hers(though Starlight was a duet). 11:11 was my first Taeyeon song so that one brings back memories too. I didn't know Gravity was such an emotional song for her but perhaps that's what makes it so good, every time I hear that song it's hypnotic to me. When that album first came out I bought it only knowing Spark because of the video. But Gravity just blew all of the other songs out of the water for me(the whole album is amazing though) and instantly became a favorite.
The 2008 OST 만약에 (If) is the song that launched Taeyeon to stardom, even before SNSD exploded with Gee. At 19 years old, it’s the first song she vocal directed herself. It was HUGE in Korea back then and it’s still receiving love now after 14 years.

It's an OST song from 2008 and although I don't think you've heard Taeyeon sing it before, you've probably heard covers. Although this song was released so many years ago it is still very popular and has never left the OST chart. Multiple kpop idols have covered it either on TV programs or just casually on Vlive or insta lives. I've seen Chaeyoung from Twice sing this on at least 4 separate occasions lmao

Yes, A Poem Titled You is deceptively difficult. Ive heard famous "singers" cover this and they fail their breathing and phrasing. iu and punch came to mind, they were really struggling to gasp air it was pitiful to hear them attempt it lol.
I remember Wendy's cover of it that she did on Instagram Live and I believe it was the best cover of them all (I saw a compilation of various covers to it) ... Of course it made realize, SM Main Vocalists are THE standard :)

IF or 만약에 was her very first soundtrack for Hong Gil Dong. I have loved her since her GG days. She has predebut songs with her vocal trainer The One too. Even before debut she was already an accomplished singer. The Korean music critics often say how she sings like she has gone through all the heartbreaks in this world even at a very young age.
