Great reaction! Ren was an upcoming artist and was signed by Sony when he was younger but he started getting sick and was misdiagnosed many times, doctors told him he was schizophrenic and gave him multiple pills that just made his mental health deteriorate. Later he was diagnosed with lyme disease and had a stem cell treatment to get better. That first line bitten by a tick boy, stem cell poster boy is a killer one. I feel once you know a bit of his background this song ties it up really well and it adds a whole another level to it
Thank you for sharing that because I was feeling something happened to him where he was given pills and it made things worse. The way you worded and explain it brought it all together.
@@HatleyHour yup, and Sony dropped him like a bad habit as soon as he became sick with what they thought at the time was only mental illness, without ever producing one of his songs. The doctors were telling him the physical pain he was in daily was all in his head and tried treating it all with antianxiety and antipsychotic meds, and being forced to live like that for a decade. Fuck Sony, what a shitty thing to do, kicking someone while they’re down. Saying the industry is cut throat is an understatement.
@@NativeNYerChicHK Just not true, they didn't drop him like a hot potato. Contracts run out and there was no way he could fulfill a new one at the time. Go listen to his interview by Justin. He had a very good connection with his Manager back then. Ren isn't sad or angry bout it

Thanks for reacting and sharing your thoughts on this one. Ren is a recent discovery for me too. There’s a lot of good performances on his channel but not to take away from any of them, I think one I really enjoyed is his cover of “I Shot the Sheriff.” Done in the Bob Marley style it is one of the best covers of that song I’ve ever heard. It almost seems like he’s channeling Bob Marley’s while playing the electric guitar. You’ll like it. ❤😊

It’s abt his struggles with his health & mental health. The pig face is on the therapist/Dr. Is because for several years he was in severe physical pain but the doctors (he now sees them as pigs) told him that it was all in his head then put him on anti-psychosis drugs. I believe he hit that idea from Orwell’s book “Animal Farm” and reference to the greed of man.
Even as he physically worsened they said he was mentally ill. He left the country to seek help and it was found that he had Lyme Disease and even suffered brain damage from it being left untreated. He currently receiving treatment for his illness.
