I'd like to see a video where two Brazilians be speaking like tourist in a fluent conversation and have English subtitles so I know what they be saying.

All languages are difficult to learn, there is no one easier than the other, all are equally difficult, all are different languages, English is not easy to learn, we are just more used to English, at school, at work, but everyone languages are equally difficult, we can have exceptions for example with the latin languages, if you speak one, you will understand a lot of other latin language. But for a Portuguese speaker to learn English, it is the same difficulty for an English speaker to learn Portuguese. And for a Spanish speaker to learn Portuguese is the same difficulty as a Portuguese speaker to learn Spanish, but in this case they are easier for both, as the languages are very similar, as well as Italian.

(native brazilian) I was just wondering why would you guys that are learning this as a second, third or whatever lang, would do it. I mean, it's one of the hardest langs out there and Brazil isn't that good country to go to. lol I can assure ye japanese is easier.

This started out of interest in a long distance friend I made who lives in brazil. I wanted them to be more comfortable speaking with me so I've slowly started trying to learn Portuguese. What started as an interest in opening up communications between us has become something of a background hobby I'm now working on. Ola, muito prazer. Meu nome é Tony. Como você se chama?
It is hard, I could be putting more time into it obviously I'm in basic training. I had to go back to my notes to remember how to ask ur name. And I have trouble right now with remembering standard things like how "um" and "uma is supposed to work. Masculine and feminine naming for things. While I'm remembering basic words like bola, cachorro, jornal. I also keep forgetting the "o" and "a" before things. Also breaking down what I hear into text form. I kept hearing "carro" as "Cow" for some reason
I disagree. It is super easy for me because I'm a native Spanish speaker. Plus, I want to be a polyglot.

As someone who speaks English, Spanish, some French and now learning Portuguese, I find it irresponsible to teach slangs. As someone who teaches both English and Spanish, I strongly believe it is wrong to do so. Teach people to speak correctly. When they have a command of the language they can incorporate some slangs if they wish. I DON'T WANT TO LEARN SLANGS.
Don't assume everyone is from the USA. Hay mucha gente de Sur America, Hispanaparlante que está aprendiendo Portugués.
