      I couldn't work out why after all the bother to paint the roundals black, and the columns and the scanner, why use the scanner and the wall by the door to act as a corridor, when it is so clearly not. You would have thought someone would have pointed out during the filming or when they watched it during the editing, but probably someone will try and tell us it was 'cos of time and lack of money and a very short scene, and few would notice during the broadcast. With no worries about repeated viewing. One very interesting thing, from that point on, we saw less and less interior Tardis scenes, so maybe the walls warped after the repainting?

    • @vullord666
      @vullord666 Před 3 lety +7

      Honestly that's part of the reason why I feel Moffat killed Missy off before we saw this come to fruition. I think people really don't realize that she had become the most dangerous Incarnation of the Master. Not only was she the most experienced and knowledgable (capable of anything previous Incarnations accomplished), but she had started to breakaway from their literal character flaws that had been holding them back. Though I hate we never got to see the character development through and Missy fully stand side by side with the Doctor, I can also see how that would have been a writers nightmare. The Doctor and his only near equal back to back on the same side. They'd make a joke out of any threat. Also, we've seen how close to jumping off the deep end the Doctor gets when he spends too much time alone, what about when he spends too much time with someone almost exactly like him (they've always been too sides of the same coin). Mortal and "down to earth" companions (human or otherwise) keep him grounded, the Master/Mistress would probably have the opposite effect. Still, I do wish we had kept that character development and just had the Master get his own TARDIS again and go off on their own adventures. Anything but the pure idiocy and character degradation in series 12.

    Ainley was a great Master - and often forgotten. Ainley, God rest his soul, hammed the Master up. I went to university with a 'friend' uncannily like Ainley's Master. Frighteningly so.
    I've always adored Ainley's 'campish' incarnation of the Master. Roger Delgado was splendid. Perfection. So too was the brilliant Michelle Gomez as 'Missy'. I'd love 'Missy' back. Redeemed? Who knows? Imagine a whole season of just 12 and Missy? It might even save what's left of my once favourite television show.
    I particularly loved the Sim Master. He was insane and driven towards madness as a child. Finally, some character development for the Master! His hatred of the Doctor has always been overblown. Why such malevolence? What did the Doctor do in their pasts to earn such hatred and scorn from the Master? I could understand why this brilliant, totally insane incarnation of the Master loathed the Time Lords so much. They screwed with his mind as a child. I'd loathe them too...

    I don't think it's a simple matter that the Valeyard would be too much of an enemy for the Master to face, or that someone would deny him the victory that he desires over the Doctor, it's that the Valeyard is without a concept of beauty, delight, or enjoyment. Even the Master has admiration for some things, but the Valeyard, being the amalgamation of all that is evil in the Doctor would include no respect for the universe, he considers the simple pleasures to be folly. He would see it all destroyed - good, evil, and everything in between, and feel nothing for it.

    • @LordZontar
      @LordZontar Před 7 lety +18

      It doesn't have to be. A TARDIS is a weapon in and of itself if used for a destructive purpose. It can project a gravity beam powerful enough to tow a terrestrial planet. That same gravitational forcefield could be used to shred a planet by tidal force, just a matter of adjusting the power level and the induced angular momentum upon the target world. No starship could withstand that kind of force projection, and a TARDIS could tear through a fleet in minutes. Of course, presumably the chameleon circuit could be programmed to change the TARDIS exterior into any kind of warship from any culture you could imagine and it would be fully functional as well. So really, a TARDIS doesn't have to be weaponised at all.

If he thinks he has been relatively close to the doctor all these years what was his defeat by The Valeyard like? Tardis physics is a consequence of general relativity and would be difficult even with artificial intelligence, Theoretically it may not even be possible .I'm sure anyone that witnesses a U.F.O. turn on it's cloaking device quickly questions even the validity of some of the greatest postulations of the astrophysics community, as speed of light without warp drive or wormholes is forbidden and cloaking devices make the real visitors to our timeline and planet, invisible to detection with 21 st century human technology, these devices fail ( they may on purposefully expose themselves and not fail) and American military personal you could see zoom to the area (if you were there)of their huge mother ship, they are shy (they protect themselves from a potentially terrorist planet by not sharing technology) and if they can make it so sometimes you will not remember ( they will change history from the future or wipe out your memories especially if the send you into the past for a few hours or so ). don't be surprised that there is no big cover up with all those con artists ,speaking of extraterrestrial existence anyways. This is not science fiction and N.A.S.A. isn't lying when they say no contact has been made they don't necessary know ,the science community mostly really doesn't. That's why some are taking up their lives trying out foolish grand unified field theories (they cant test theories that will either make them time space travelers or disregard all theories that put a limit on light speed and time travel, because they cant regard any witness to these events as legitimate ) they believe physics most cherished theories are better than Mr Newtons 17th century ones. S.E.T.I. looks at radio waves to find alien technology that's slower than light speed,You really believe they took forever to get here and there? If you create quantum sentient artificial intelligence with brain machine consciousness interfaces, and test general relativity and quantum mechanics your species will become as time lords but your machine may not be larger on the inside, this is not Gallifray this is the realty of all advanced civilizations, that can create multiple histories, here is my update on this comment , appearing to jump from one spot in space time to another is not so strange to appear in more than one place at a time and in contradictory states at once and take on the characteristics, that have henceforth been attributed to quanta and not macro objects in computational non digital analysis . Remember huge populations can be abducted memory erased and their own time lines altered from the future to cloak alien presence, civilizations can perish but the occurrence can be reversed from the future, Cloaking technology can fool all 21st century earth detection devices, we have been labeled as potentially a trouble-making terrorist planet, and will ecologically respect and survive tell we become travelers of space and time from our own technology , not to destroy ourselves with technology we don't have jet by world conquest and making trouble for other worlds were humanoids are not the most intelligent species . Foo fighters followed craft in world war two we don't really know if the Nazis won the first time around and we were exterminated because of this, or if a foolish alien decides to share technology with the con questing soviet union,or the capitalistic piggishness, of maximization of profit at the expense of other species, to wreak havoc on the galaxy and create a unnecessary interstellar event of inter-species hostility . Whatever alternative timeline there are it will always be denied by your local scientist even when it becomes nothing but pseudo science to do so, by the overwhelming amount of independent witnesses that couldn't collaborate with each other to perpetuate a hoax through coordinated communications . Of course I've lost time into the past, and seen three vehicles in the sky that were obviously not of 21st century earth, and of course i'm not on anti psychotic medication of any any sense of form schizophrenic of insane . Why would anyone just write something like this just to lie? Biological sampling or are there real time-lords out there that have no memory of their behavior, and have nothing to do with this show , something deemed it necessary or important to abduct someone and erase their memory they had some fulfilled agenda .
