So as for why amputation doesn't work with Oripathy. The "crystallization" actually doesn't show on the skin after like the middle stages of Oripathy. The way Oripathy works is that (I'm pretty sure) the crystals start to form in organs and blood vessels, travelling around the body and implanting itself on cells basically. Also, Oripathy is really caused by "prolonged exposure" to originium particles. So in cases where originium particles are inhaled, ingested, or other cases where the originium gains direct access to the insides and so on, it wouldn't work at all. As for why they dont just avoid Originium, it's basically the source of all their lives. Their livelihoods, their shelter, the energy they use, all of it is connected to Originium in some way. The civilizations (except Ægir) all rely on this Originium foe their technology.
The doctor is supposed to represent the player, so they can be any gender. The VA did a good job at playing an androgynous voice that makes the doctor sound like a soft-spoken man and a husky voiced woman.
That girl IS the one from the song Radiant. The difference is that the one in the music video is actually her alter. The version that shows up in the main story and anime first is the original version while the one you remember is her glow-up
Talulah isn't playable ofc. One needs to be hired by Rhodes Island or atleast somewhat able to be in Rhodes Island's aid in some way to be an Operator. Also, the only rarity above 6-stars are the Limited 6-stars.
Tbh this anime is hard to watch without playing the game. I was watching with a friend and without my explanations of plot points, character motivations and politics she would have been a bit lost. Also I’d say that it isn’t everyone’s cup of tea since this type of story and what it shines at isn’t what most people would like. Ofc there’s still pacing issues and budget constraints so critical thinking and attentiveness goes a long way which is why it’s confusing especially with only 8 episodes. I know most of my friends wouldn’t watch this show lol. The friend I watched it with thought it started of slow but really liked the ending of this season and season 2 was amazing for her even if she didn’t play the game. I hope you guys give it a chance and be welcome to enjoy it. Like I said I personally don’t think it’s meant for anime only unless you’re into geopolitics and war and it’s effects kinda like 86 but thank u guys for covering it. ❤
I loved 86 and I thought it was one of the best animes but one of my friends told me they felt a little bored when watching it and now that you mentioned it I can see how it's also a similar situation with arknights so you are actually right about the anime not being for everyone but I have a strong feeling season 3 is going to be so peak because it's about chapter 8 and 9 and I'm sure it will motivate people to actually watch the whole anime

I think you guys will quickly realize that a lot of the content you watched aren't actually in the anime imo its pretty disappointing cus all the real cool stuff are kept in game but i dont think we can ask much of the company. arknights isnt the most successful out there and getting an anime released with such good stuff like this is already top tier effort. the anime really only showcases the main story of the game and in my opinion, the reunion arc isnt as interesting as the victoria arc
