Right after winning that 'Gods of Metal best new band' award, right. So different in film presentation and audio than Bloodstock which has been viewed about 500,000 times... That's the one that ought to have been taken down and leave Wacken UP. It could have 5m views by now, and millions more fans. Now would be a good time for new fans to see LOVEBITES beginnings, imo. All of their songs are sung completely in English (with the exception of Bravehearted on the first record, which is a song written and intended for the band Destrose before the formation of Lovebites).
Well worth noting is Haruna & Asami's adaptation to English of Haruna's Bravehearted for the Awakening From Abyss full CD and the live presentations, lastly being the ending song on Awake Again from October 2020. Band Maid, Nemophila, and Love Bites. All so incredible and talented. Midori was at NAMM in california, in janurary 2020. She played for two hours in the Kemper amplification area. Midori hair was down, and she was banging out their songs. She was so down to earth, humble, beautiful person. It's on YT, I didn't realize it was until recently. Watching Midori was as good as being at a concert, she's so good.
Thanks for more LOVEBITES. Now sub'd for more... Haruna's use of quick-decay cymbals is key to preventing their sound from getting muddy and cluttered. At the speeds they play, the accumulation of ringing would be obtrusive. I love her use of them, her fills and transitions are impressive. Their song "The Hammer of Wrath" features her and bassist Miho in numerous breaks, transitions and fills that really drew me in when first hearing their Wacken 2018 show (since removed from u2b). That show is so impressive in that they are simply 5 women, one with drum kit, one with bass and 1 amp, two with guitars and 1 amp each and Asami singing through PA on a small festival stage at 12 noon to a crowd of German Metalheads. It is as GLORIOUS as this Glory to the World video, imo. To create such a massive sound with so little really shows their skill and unity as a band.

"That's crazy"...NO it is Lovebites and their relentless pursuit of perfection in each and every song they do. Haruna drives this band with her relentless drum patterns that would wear out a normal human being. While the backbone continues to be Miho/bass and Haruna/drums, the M & M show really shine as usual. Those riffs are wicked good (love Miyako's custom Dean) but the harmonizing at these speeds is especially impressive. However, this is where Asami really shines and it is her song to really dominate, she proves again why she is perfect for this band and her range here is awesome. Their new EP drops on 3/10 and can't wait to get it and see what else they have in store.This band is summed up in one word FLAWLESS each and every time you listen to them whether it is Power, Speed, Thrash, Rock, Ballads or even piano or in Lovebites realm a combination of several of those in each presentation.

Lovebites releases a new song ... You . are . not . ready. It is not a worship song, Midori and the rest of the band with Mao composed this song to reflect the happening of 2020 and 2021. It is an epic uplifting song. The church they recorded was used for several other bands, most notably Aldious - Dominator. Asami sings that way intentionally. She does have a slight accent, but it is not bad. Her technique is more operatic with vibrato and often merges last and first words of a sentence. To me Lovebites are currently the best band out there. There are many great bands with exceptional musicianship, especially in Japan and all female bands, but Lovebites are on another level.
Maybe you are interested to checking out Lovebites songs with slower and groovy tempo. So, I read somewhere (I'm not an expert) that in Japanese culture in anime and music the reason you might see a lot of references to Christian imagery, iconography, and lingo is that is is seen as foreign and mysterious. Only 1% of Japanese people are Christian. It is similar to how we might include samurai or ninja or kanji tattoos and not take the time to really know what it is all about. It is not meant to disrespectful and I as a Christian am thankful that there is a curiosity in Japan about Jesus, even if the "theology" is usually way off.
