Been listening to Straits since they hit the scene in 79? getting old now....very nice comment about Mark & Band. Check out `Coming up for Air` John Illsley, old Straits sound but in a different way. I really dig the Album.

Am I to understand you are retiring from live music? Wish you all the best, will miss you beyond words. Only you and Garcia could play that real hi end stuff.your music has graced my life...well Santana can also go there. But because my mom was from Edinburg, and I was raised in the sf bay area, I get some comfort that I can only describe as tribal when I hear you play. When I saw you in Berkeley, maybe 30 years ago, although seems like yesterday... You can completely deliver and yet reduce you voice to a whisper. What a gift and it just gets better , I hope your hanging up your spurs for your choice and not for health reasons. Your passion and love of the art of music,that's a amazing big pair of shoes to fulfill. No official statement yet. At the Albert Hall, he said he'd thought about retiring but didn't know what else he'd do, so perhaps he'd keep doing it until he 'fell over', in his words.
