I'm guessing that's because it was a champion. That being said, with the number of red bars surrounding them would imply it wouldn't proc off of them.
That’s what I’m thinking, those things take a while to recharge all the way back to 3
Especially when you can consume the grenade and every kill suspends everything...
Note: charging up three melee charges...... can take what feels like 6 minutes for some. (for one suspend.... that you could mess up.)

But the delay is there so you can stack more and make the radius bigger

Maybe I'm coping but there *HAS* to be more to this exotic. Maybe increased Melee Regen on Melee Suspensions or synergizing with new exotic weapons or something. 3 Melees for a single suspension is just...I can make a tangle with Swarmers and just make that suspend-

@@voidwalker5634Consume a shackle on Prismatic. Better yet, just use a shackle on Prismatic. You’ll see the issue quick, because it’s looking pretty obvious this is built for Prismatic, which has 0 access to suspend on Warlock
Like a ton of the other exotics that have come out in the last year or two, it's gimmicky and only going to be used by clowns who don't know how to play their classes properly. Warlocks can suspend stuff so much easier than needing this, without having to waste an exotic armor slot

@@brandondennis7527 that's not themed after the speakers mask. It's themed around kintsugi, an artform of mending broken pots and plates, and using gold to highlight those cracks

We don’t know that. It just says arcane needles cause a suspending detonation. And it prolly took all three to kill both the yellow bars.
My guess is that 1 will suspend, it just has like a 3 second delay or smthn, so it looks like 3 (also if you watch frame-by-frame he throws 5 total, so maybe you do need 3 but it buffs the amount u have, or how u get them)

I'm guessing it takes a sec to activate, and you can add more stacks during that time to create a bigger effect. They also have some way to recharge melee energy

Three melee charges for 1 suspend is DOA for me when suspend grenades, coldsnaps and bleak watchers are subclass options
There's gotta be more to it than that. A tangle can already do that on warlock, or we can throw or eat a shackle grenade or just use the wish keeper. It's extremely niche as you'd have to have a build that requires you to not have the aspect, bow, or shackle grenade, and no use for a better exotic. Idk, hopefully there's more to it, but as is I'll pass I think.
Uhh… Bungie… We can already suspend by eating grenade and killing the enemy, which will spread suspend to surrounding enemies. It’s already clear with Prismatic that you’ve run out of innovative ideas for a new subclass, but this exotic chest is not needed for an action already present within the strand subclass for Warlock. Try harder!

It’ll be also cool if defeating suspended targets grants more melee energy.
That will never happen because there are too many easier ways to suspend things and it would probably break the game with unraveling at that point

The point I was getting at was if you added melee regen on suspend kill, you are opening it up to every form of suspension. Not just the melee suspend. You could run the exotic with mindspun/shackle grenades, ignore the suspending aspects of the melee, and just use the crazy fast melee's your getting to kill the suspended stuff (and unravel it), thus refilling your melee further. It would have to have crazy limitations

that's what I'm thinking, cause 3 charges for the suspend is kind of mid, that's 3 separate cooldowns you got to get to when you can just throw a grenade
My guess is one kill is a suspend, or all 3 if you can't kill the target. Well have to wait and see tho. Def something to use on Prismatic as Warlocks don't have a suspension option for the subclass without this.

You could just absorb your shackle grenade and have your monte carlo kills do suspending bursts instead, and not have to waste an exotic slot. Hell, you could just use the strand bow that suspends stuff and not have to waste an exotic slot.
@@ParallelocamAbsorbing shackle requires kills. This can land all three needles on a big enemy and suspend it and everything around them.
On Prismatic, it will be really good.
@@Catalyst375 Anything past a red bar you need to suspend, you can literally just toss the shackle grenade at them and save yourself an exotic armor slot. In the case of a champion, you can just stun them and not need to suspend too. If you want to argue "i might not have my grenade" then I'm going to argue "you might not have your melee either". With demo/chain reaction forbearance now, you can easily pair that with osteo/thorn on the suspend build and always have your grenade
monte carlo is not end game gun so it will not be good

@@SlongestKongest Or consume a grenade and use my weapons to suspend any target for 20 sec. Or better yet, throw a tangle and save my grenade and melee charges. This chest piece will be a collectors item, unless there are some other perks not mentioned.

This is only getting used on prismatic because strand warlocks have mindspun invocation with the shackle grenade and the wanderer for much more reliable suspension options. Prismatic is also more likely to use the exotic class item, considering its potential. This is gonna be useless unless it gets changed so each arcane needle suspends.
I saw someone say you could pair it with monte Carlo, but that would be ineffective compared to mindspun and shackle grenade. There's gotta be more to it than what it shows or it's gonna be dead on arrival

Prismatic soul Vortex: Holding down O consumes transcendence bar and 50 percent of super gauge to lay down prismatic rift
Effect Self and allies gain Solar, Arc, Void soul With a light subclass equipped
or Upgraded stasis soul that shoots diamond lances that freeze and speed up with frost armor buff and strand soul that shoots unraveling shots with darkness subclass equipped
Just for Warlock holding down L2 R2 while having souls following you refresh you with extended duration and give extra effects to each soul
All souls apply all elemental effects
Solar soul scorches, gives restoration and weakens enemies
Arc soul blinds, jolts, and amplifies
void soul doesn't dispatch itself, it follows you and launches axion darts with short range that grant suppressed volatile and devour
stasis soul diamond lance launches stasis darts on impact that slow freeze and shatter
stand soul unraveled enemies explode and release a lot of mini thread-lings that do less damage than their bigger counterparts and when they return to you instead of storing themselves they give you buffs, weaving aura just like titan banner of war but only heals for less but much more frequently allies in aura gain woven mail, tangles automatically explode
This might be a bit more overkill but pickup subclass pickups void fissures, stasis shards can fill up the transcendence bar
picking up subclass pickups can convert one or add one more soul to the guardian for example three solar souls or one stasis one strand and one void
Also visually on the exotic add 5 alternating orbs symbolizing the five powers of the subclasses
Looks like you have to use all 3 charges. Not sure if I’d choose this over the prismatic exotic that can combine necrotics and swarmers

Except we already have far far better ways to mass suspend. Mindspun invocation lets all kills create a suspending burst. Wanderer makes tangles suspend. Suspend grenade, new bow from this season. All of which don’t require you to wait for all 3 melee charges

The base cooldown on threaded needle is 90 seconds. Even with 50 strength its still like 60 per charge. This exotic if there isnt meleeenergy refund with it is gonna be hot trash @ockie1544

Ooh, Arcane Needles are a great melee option (my favorite, actually), and this will definitely challenge my Necrotic build with them
Mindspun Invocation does what this exotic does. Stay will Necrotic.
This exotic is borderline as purposeless as the one exotic for the legs that’s complicated just to make some rifts. I just don’t need suspend that badly it is very easy to suspend targets. What is the value of this over necrotic grip and a weapon of sorrow?
They definitely didn't make this exotic just so Prismatic Warlock has access to Suspend... It definitely does more than spend all 3 melees for Suspend... Right? Oh god.
I hope it also has something like suspending enemies give meele energy because on its own this perk is outclassed easily. If it does get meele energy on suspends it could be really good with stuff like Wish keeper and that one aspect that lets you suspend on kills after eating a grenade or the one that lets you suspend with tangles.
So i need 3 melees to do what i can do with one grenade or by consuming one grenade?

It kind of looks like parts of a robe with a tattooed exo body at the centre, kinda cool definitely like more power to the arcane needle, especially with potential for a prismatic build with the arc slide, this sounds like it could get fun
I’m curious though does it have to be all three needles on one target because that would be difficult to pull off with groups of enemies, but of course it’s an ability that would only really be useful against groups of enemies
Hopfully it shades well, or gets a decent looking ornament that also shades well.

Sounds good I understand 1 melee to suspend would be OP but using all 3 charges is a lot if not using Monte Carlo but if you get an exotic class armor with necrotic grips and claws of ahamkara might be doing something

This exotic is already DOA. It's gonna join his friends wings of dawn and sanguine alchemy into the collection tab.
In my unwarranted opinion, I think if it doesn't have a secondary perk like "refunds small amount of melee energy based on combatants effected by suspend burst" it won't be too viable.
Seems like Bungie has been cooking so hard they forgot to even try making worthwhile exotics😂

Mid the build I use now I can hang enemies constantly and have a new grenade to consume once the timer runs out but mabye there is more than we can see at the moment.

Wanderer ain't even that good. It's just the least bad of whatever's left besides mindspun lol. Please don't use this, it's a gimmick exotic for the people who have zero clue what they're doing
If this exotic has any kind of melee regen capability it might work well with a weavewalk build to increase its uptime

100+ in strength and using Monte Carlo with mods that increase melee return.
So at a closer look it seems that when arcane needle hits, it has a short delay to before causing the suspending burst (kinda like the wanderer) and the burst explodes from every target hit by arcane needle. It also seems that the more hits on a target the longer/bigger the suspend blast. Or maybe they're walking back some of the suspend nerfs? Either way arcane needle is the only part of Broodweaver getting any love yet again
Titans get tiny rockets, Hunters get grenades, Warlocks get something that should just be a Fragment/Aspect slot. We could have had like a tiny turret or something ordinance based like the other two. Like throw a rift down and you get a turret based on subclass or something. IDK
So instead of getting something that leans more into the “summoning” aspect, we get this lmao
I hope we won't need 3 melees to suspend, or it's def going trash
