Easily the best part of the 2011 spinjitzu gimmick was the card system, I really wish they brought it back, but since they were _very_ unclear on whether winning players kept the other player's weapons, resulting in borderline gambling and kids losing their weapons in my school, so I can see why they got rid of the beyblade aspect altogether
Kinda amusing seeing Lego constantly try to reinvent the spinning top, even though they kinda already perfected them, both in play function and aesthetics.

Well I like that one at the very least for that parts inclusion, it gave us constraction fans another clothing element to build our characters with. A lot of these spinners with specialized pieces are great for mocking, so even though they constantly make new ones, the pieces they come up with still have uses outside their intended function.
The Legacy ones were objectively the best. I never grew up on the og ones, so I don't have the same attachment to them as other people. If I had to add one thing, it would be the trading cards.

In theory they have a really cool idea . To have a gimmick set that can spin, drift and flip is wonderful. Also they have a real good design, especially the minifigures. Sadly it looks as you said it doesn't work that well but still i would like the rest three ninja get one of these just for the mini figures even if it doesn't work!

Each spinner has it's strengths, ex ept a few. The original ones are a classic, and very customizable. Excellent playability with the fighting, knocking the opponent off their spinner. Plus they had the card game. Airjitzu is something brand new (flying). Love it. The movie or SOG spinners have the pull pin like the Airjitzu flyers, or like Beyblades. Provides a very good spin. The dragon flyer spinners were a modification of Airjitzu. Kinda lazy, but they look cool. The Legacy spinners are show accurate *and* customizable. Glad they brough that aspect back. The spinners released around season 11 are the most show accurate. Very similar to the Legacy spinners, just without the customizability. Spinjitzu burst and slam are honestly the lamest. Not even that different from each other. The Core spinners are a good mix of show accuracy and the ease to spin with the handle, like the Airjitzu and movie/SOG spinners. And the new, dragon energy spinners have the cool orb pieces, I guess. Oh and the Spinjitzu stick is cool because it's controllable.
I wonder if these new spinners would do better job if they were designed to have the 1 ball at the bottom only instead 3 at the sides. Would require tricky construction, but also would allow spin even with bad friction + more space for customization
It’s bad enough that the ball spinners don’t work as intended out of the box, but it’ll only get worse when kids try to play with it. Most will probably use it on the floor, which after a few tries will likely clog up the balls with dust, hair and debris, and on top of that, the balls will probably get scratched up to some extent, such that they will no longer function at all.
I kind of wish they made new versions of the original spinners. It would be cool to see what the game would be like if they kept developing it
