being soft doesn’t mean being a bad coach/push over coach. i think personally it’s better for players to love their coaches, have a relationship with their coaches and the coaches to still be hard on them than being afraid of their coaches and afraid to mess up 24/7. i have a coach for school volleyball, everyone is afraid of her and they’re afraid of making her angry. it’s hard to develop a relationship with her and she’s a very good skill wise volleyball coach but her connection with kids/children/us players is very tense. i feel like all coaches should try and have a relationship with their players while still being hard on them.
Met Coach Cook one day when I was walking on campus. We walked together for a while. Great Soul!

The information content about the best volleyball coach in America today is very high The day. The day NU hired John Cook was a tremendous day for their volley ball program. Just think, for a couple of years NU had Tom Osborne and John Cook at the same time.
Petit made Nebraska a powerhouse. Cook was what Osborne was to Devaney.
That one made me a little misty.
