Decanting was definitely the way to go. The paint and clear look really good 😎 I might have a kit minus an engine if you want to give it a go again. I’ll check my stash, see what I have 👍
I will never spray it from the can again. Sprays great decanted though. If you have one I would be willing to work out a trade with you. Shoot me an email.

Ouch, I've experienced that with Testors extreme lacquer. I waited 5 min between coats and got craters in the paint. If I spray it again, I'll wait 10-15 min between coats. Firebird looks awesome!

Always frustrating when those issues occur, I guess no one is immune really (which make me feel slightly better lol). Good recovery, it'll still look great in your collection surely.

Turned out really nice. Those taillights are a chore but worth the effort. Only problem I had was a warped chassis. Had to hack off the front so the nose of the body would fit.
Thank you Ed! I actually rewatched your video to see what issues you had so I could check to see if if I had the same. I did have to trim about 2 mm off the front of the chassis on mine and then it fit no problem

I've had mixed results with those Testors Extreme paints. Most worked great. But, 1:47 the darker blues have me issues. The Firebird came pretty good, considering the battles.

So, I'm not the only one having problems with the Testors (Rustoleum) paint. One of my local hobby shops won't sell it anymore due to customer complaints.
Definitely not the only one. I've had issues multiple times with the air bubbles in the paint. Always when spraying from the can. Thought I was doing something wrong. Sprays great decanted though.
@@CBModelworks I just used Testors paint last week and noticed bubbles that formed on one of the a pillars, never seen that before. I wonder if they changed the paint formula or something. I've been using Testor's out of the can for years.
@@davidgalinat4257 I really like this paint and I’ve used it for years as well without issue. It’s just the last year or so this has been happening. I will say that decanted and airbrushed works without issue.
