I'm an envelope filter junkie! Shocker, as bass player that loves envelope filters. The 440 is cool. Props for giving some love to the FX25B. I love that pedal, as well as the ones without the blend, they are just dubby, weird and funky as hell!! One modern envelope filter that I have to hype is the "Fwonk Beta Purple Funk Generator" by Mr. Black Pedals. It's a thick and syrupy dream of an envelope filter!
I have a question, there is a song called Whamola by Les Claypool’s fearless flying frog brigade. A Whamola is a one string bass you hit with a drumstick and stretch the string with a handle. But in the beginning of Whamola the instrument Whamola has a sort of whip sound to it and I was wondering if an envelope filter might make that sound.
I have one that I used on a successful track. I used it in parallel too :) Actually I have one in a slightly different box, but I think it has the same insides. They've gone back to the retro box now. I do find it does a huge WOOF at the bottom of its sweep which makes it difficult to use on bass. Most (all?) of the playing here doesn't allow the full sweep to happen.
Ngl I kind of want this because it's such a nice colour. It's like the absolute best pedal colour possible. I'd love if they did a bass version but they'd just a different colours. I'd probably do a set low boost rather than a mix knob, but both would be great.
Ah the problems of a bassmans. I busted a phaser at a practice and you would have thought it was the start of armageddon... Root notes and clean is all im allowed haha
@@DolemiteSammich I have a flanger that I use for about 30 seconds per set, but I can't get rid of it because it annoys the drummer so much, so I keep it around. Breakdowns sounded so much cooler when I used a tap tempo delay, but noooooooooo.... I play a lot of root notes and clean, and I have no problem with that. I'm in a punk band. I also play walking lines, counter-melodies etc. But the drummer and guitar player are a married couple, and the drummer's bugaboo in my band is if I play quarter notes instead of eighth notes. "We're not a disco band!!!"
Interesting. What envelope filter would you recommend with a mix/blend control? (nvm I finished the video and saw the fx25b recommendation). I rock a JoshWah currently and it has no mix and I have no issues.
You cannot do this. Now you have phase issues in the signal. This pedal usually sounds much better. Please re record, You should record with one microphone. Not with a second clean signal. This will cancel out the midrange.
Lars always kills it!
THX so much, Barry! :-)

The Boomstick Bottom Feeder / Mojo Hand 442 was a version of this tweaked for bass if you can still find one out there!
Yep, Lars smackin and owning that bass 😎
And an interesting pedal to boot 🤟
Cheers, Mr. Viking! 🙂 Atb, Lars
Moral of the story is that all pedals sound good when played by a great player and mixed by someone who knows what they’re doing.
This really bassed my world

70's here we come!
I have the FX25B, but I find it a little hard to use with different pickups on a show

I was thinking inna comparison between old dod and new one… either way,was great as always 🤘🏻

Amazing, thanks!
Wow this thing sounds rad as hell.
My band mates just hate it when I use mine. I should put it back on my board!

Lars seems very much to be a bassist after my heart- he plays like Bobby Vega! No better accolade can be given in my book.
THX man, much appreciated! Yes, I LUV my man Bobby! :-) Atb, Lars
great video as always ... I love BassTheWorld ... but i must admit I don't like the sound of this env. filter at all ... not for me this one ...
Which one of Gregors bassists you guys think is the best player?
That fretless bit is just fantastic. Damnit I need a fretless. A lot more expensive than this pedal -_-
THX man, much appreciated! :-) Atb, Lars
BAD AZZ

MXR Bass Envelope Filter is super versatile and sounds amazing! Independent dry and effect controls.
@@karlkestermann I've looked at the MXR. It seems to be very popular and sounds great from the demos I've heard.
@@DolemiteSammich keep in mind it’s a band pass filter, and not a low pass filter
an other nice video!
What is that orange splitter pedal? Couldn’t quite hear its name, thanks.
It's a German company by the name of Lehle!
@@LarsLehmannBassplayer thank you :-)
@@charlielee5502 welcome, buddy! :-)
Yeah...just get the MXR instead.

Those vibration and tones are not coming under true real grounding bass, but under synthesizer tones., It's not pure real bass.
