Hell yeah seth foreverman
Looks like you didnt forgot how to play them, you did awesome !!
remember to blast beat
The way you mould and reshape music to make it interesting or comedic is genuinely one of my favourite things about seeing an upload from you!
This man really disappeared for months then showed up to flex his drum skills for two minutes, absolutely unreal.
I mean that's how this channel usually is lol, he uploads once and then he "sleeps" for two months to quote his Twitter bio
You must be new here.......

@@Nikki-tm2ck Actually he uploaded just 3 weeks ago...
You can see character arc development here. At first he's just monotonously playing, by the end it looks like he's actually enjoying it. More emotion showed here than his previous videos combined :D
That's the magic of the drums
I play some percussion and I can tell you firsthand hitting a $1k worth of an instrument with funny stick is very satisfying
@@Shlepp_xal Yeah, I don't think he had much of a choice in the matter... It's hard to stoneface that level of physical exertion.
The magic of ABBA for a Swede
Interesting fact- this is actually the exact score of how the drums were written for the track, they just couldn't find anyone to play it well enough. Now we finally hear the song as it was written.
Fr?
Is this real??

What about the missing distorted guitar playing power chords

thats the effect of drumming, impossible not to have fun

as i said under a different comment, “he actually looks like he’s living a fulfilled life and not simply drifting by in a steady haze of depression and emotional emptiness”
@@kaphizmey6229 I have mixed feelings about that to be honest. When I was watching his stream on twitch he looked quite sad like he really need a real hug or he looked calm more like he has accepted that life can be so shitty sometimes.

Never hearing ABBA as a Swede is pretty much matrix level of dodging bullets. gg.
ABBA is good tho. That's not dodging bullets, it's like... it's like never eating bacon.
@@showalk i’ve never really listened to abba before (though i’m an american so i guess that might be why)
@@showalk I've never had bacon my life is pretty decent
You trying to diss abba or sum shit??
He's still never heard them, those headphones were blocking the sound. It's just pure coincidence that the drumming matches.
I'm suddenly realizing how much all of my favorite Swedish metal bands were influenced by ABBA
This brought back memories of being a drummer in a rock band in the late 70's. The guys would be playing "Baby I Love Your Way" by Frampton and I got bored with the beat. I'd be doing my own thing trying to speed and spice things up....they rather enjoyed it like I did this!
Through his pain and suffering, you can see the face of a man that actually likes what he's doing. So wholesome.

I'm not sure if Seth is joking or not here, but if one critically listens to enough popular music, it's easy to predict where that kind of stuff would be. It's no big task to fudge the rest.
More likely his "first time of the day", no one believes he has never listened to it.
I'd actually listen to a full version of this with drums, cause this is an absolute banger!

I got a heart attack from this because this is my mum’s ringtone 😂
I've always wondered why us metalheads adore abba so much. And the answer is that besides composition and talent, every abba song is secretly an amazing powermetal song! This video is proof of that
you're not the first to realise :P if you search "abba metal" you'll find a whole collaborative powermetal tribute album from like, early 2000's
ABBA is objectively good regardless of music taste!
@Mbita Acoustic Guitar Sell lemonade or cut some grass kid.
Youre definitely right. I totally see it now
@Mbita Acoustic Guitar oh yeah?! Well my parents said that if I get straight A’s, they’ll buy me a Lamborghini!! My parents are cooler than your parents!!!

I think sometimes we forget that Seth isn't just a meme lord and is also genuinely an incredibly skilled musician and this just serves to remind us that yeah this guy is probably a musical genius. Personally, I think the moment you started drumming with song without being out out of sync or timing was just amazing to me. It was so smooth!
This will always be my favorite drums video on the Internet. ❤
I love how drums are THE genre defining instrument. You can just start playing different beat on same song and turn it immediately from power metal one into a salsa

This needs to be in The Black Satans' next music video.

i don't think you guys understand how insane that 7/16 part is. i barely understand polyrhythms at all but that was sick as hell and deserves so much more recognition
Yeah but that was a 7/16 time signature not a polyrhythm
Technically, I believe you’d call this a polymeter and not polyrhythm. If the 7/16 pattern would’ve been repeated on the 1 of every 4/4 you might call it a polyrhythm, but for that to be possible the tempo of the 7/16 pattern has to be altered. Metric modulation is a related and relevant term.
I dont Think u understand it either.
But i guess that just enforces ur point even more

1:22 I'm more impressed by your editing skills.
Seth playing one of the hardest genres for drums out there just shows how incredibly versatile his talents are
@@mateoneandross7656 You're pretty much bang on. There are not that many techniques you specifically need for metal drumming and a lot of it can be just purely stamina. At the most technical/fast end of the metal genre there can be stuff that is genuinely physically difficult to play as written and performed - Nile is one great example of that - but even when metal as a genre tries to be conceptually complex, it usually sticks to the genre-defining tropes and song structures. Jazz drumming gets way more difficult generally, and at the extreme end of Jazz, the sky's the limit.
Metal drumming is not as hard as jazz drumming. Full stop. There's way more variation to the latter.
I don't even like jazz and yet still acknowledge this fact.
@@DA-js7xz yeah, as someone with a jazz drumming background who played metal all of his teenage years you eventually get over it as something "difficult" to play, of course there are exceptions especially the more modern you go, drumming in metal has evolved to a more complex thing, but still not as "hard" as playing some contemporary jazz or even math rock imho
You guys really need to broaden your horizons if "jazz drumming" is peak tech for you. You've honestly never heard about Meshuggah, Animals as leaders, Vildhjarta, Archspire or even Tesseract? Intronaut, Car Bomb or Leprous? Jazz is child's play compared to what these guys are doing
metal drumming that isnt acrobatic blast beats or dream theater is actually not hard...
jazz on the other hand you can be a drummer for 10 years and still be unable to play the grooves with decent fluency
I've thought of ABBA as a run-of-the-mill pop band for a long time. Upon actively listening to their songs earlier this year, I've come to realize how wrong I was, and how much skill and effort was put into their music. Glad to hear Seth blast the drums section on this one!
Björn and Benny are two of Swedens most successful songwriters of all time, Agnetha and Frida were (and still are) great vocalist and their studio/touring musicians, most prominently Rutger Gunnarsson (bass), Janne Schaffer (guitar) and Ola Brunkert (drums) are legends in Swedish music history in their own right.
This was pop music before it became a minimalism-obsessed industry
they are extremely talented all around and their b-sides are amazing!!! it shocked me that this is the first time they’ve been nominated for a grammy!!!
Yeah, I grew up in the 80s, and kinda thought of them as disposable pop, but at some point -- I think it was when ABBA Gold was released in '92, I felt like people who normally would have scoffed at them started taking a serious second look. By the late 90s, early 00s, it was "cool" to like them again. Not that music should be measured by what is "cool" or not, but my point is their reputation definitely took a serious uptick around that time. Pretty soon, I remember hearing almost every other indie rock band name check them (Kurt Cobain was said to be a big fan, but he was always ahead of the curve on these things, if not defining the curve), and the various musicians I played with, many into punk and post-punk, all loved them. ABBA are great song writing, melodies, harmonizing, and orchestration. It is perfect pop.
I am late 90s baby and I simply love ABBA. It all started with the Mamma Mia movie, which is incredible, and my mother's love for the group. I'm glad their songs are still played 🤩
welcome to the world of adults
