      Mine too! They're generally super vocal, at least I've found, when they want attention. Mine only yelled at me when he wanted to be by me, but his flight feather hadn't grown in yet. Now he only yells when he can't see us but knows we're there, or if he hears a car in the driveway lol

    Yes, Linaeth, looking again at the video they really look as captive-bred birds. I am also not a fan of any pet mill, but in this particular case at least they are breeding a threatened species. Not sure, however, if that really means that pressure for wild-caught specimens is now lighter. They are now quite rare both in Guyana and Brazil.

    Beautiful birds, but some of them seems have damage their feathers which is often caused by bored and stress , also loud noise sounds more like they are nervous or stressed . There are also no branches and toys which sounds bit boring place for the birds to live .
    Also to all the people who against captivity breeding, not all breeders are bad, many of them look after their animals and captive bred bird will not survive in wild for long due to pollution, deforestation , predators and lack of food availability .
    Oh also if you still against about captivity breeding maybe you should pay attention how the chickens which you eat are being raised, i bet most of you people who eat factory chickens never though about it . Chickens are birds too! they often cramped in tiny cages and suffer more badly than captivity birds

      water wonders Ƹ̴Ӂ̴Ʒ I have this parrot. I can tell you thing - he is loud when he is happy, terrified, wants to talk, feed etc. Always make a loud and annoying sounds. But with damaged feathers I totaly agree. That is always sign of problem.

    • @jmatwood
      @jmatwood Před 9 lety +4

      Adam Nosek I have conures, too - true story, loud all the time unless they're up to something they know is wrong, then they're reaaaaally quiet... just like a toddler. :P In that video the majority of the noses were of the 'annoyed' variety, but they were annoying one another. And at least one of those birds' feather issues isn't self-inflicted. Someone was missing feathers on the back of their head - someone's being picked on!
      However, original commenter: I can't imagine that what you saw in that video is the entirety of their living environment. It looked like a special feeding time scenario - as in, they're not free-fed, they're fed at particular intervals, and probably in a special place. I don't particularly agree with that method either, but it makes me think that what you saw is not their complete enclosure.
      (Let's hope, anyway.)

    Some of these birds are stressed. They are plucking their breast feathers. Maybe its a lack of space, lack of breeding boxes or they are fighting over food, I dunno, but there are stressed birds there. There are birds missing head feathers which means that they are fighting each other. Too many birds in one enclosure or not enough food is my guess.

    @besamemucho5 lovebirds can be very nasty to any birds they aren't bonded with, and only bond to one other bird. The birds in this video are conures and naturally live in flocks of around 30 and flocks always eat together....it has nothing to do with Eastern culture LoL

    I know they don't look that good but I live near there and the missing breast feathers are because they use them to indentify the gender. They said using blood can infect them. They are fed good food, pellets, fruits, cereal, veggies, nuts, beans and many more so the birds aren't really neglected.

      JoeS106 I have a gold cap also! However, to be fair to... whatever organization is keeping these birds... the feeding-time-trough thing looked like only one very small part of a larger environment. I doubt that the area is their normal living space. As Bill Bingham mentioned, it was spotless, and with that many birds it's impossible for that to be the area in which they spend the majority of their time. It just looks like a feeding-time area.

    These are most likely captive-bred, not wild captured. Looks to be a bird mill. Still, they appear not to be well cared-for, and I despise the bird mill industry. I mean...that looks like a wild bird just poking about in there, the pigeon or whatever it is. Disease city, as is having the food on the ground like that. Not going to think too much about the feathers, as they could be awkward-looking normally if they're young birds just getting into their adult plumage...but still, this looks bad.
