I gotta say, I love this channel not only because its compeling stuff being well presented by awesome people, but also because it is so light hearted. Gaming channels often tend to be derivative and formulaic to a point that drags me down, but I can watch MJR at any point even when the theme doesnt interest me that much.
I love this channel. I'm 31, don't play video games at all but I love the child like energy of you guys collecting games. It's fun, you enjoy it, and you are unapologetically enthusiastic about it - and that makes me feel good. I loved video games up until I was about 22, then I just stopped for whatever reason. When I was younger I put literally hundreds of hours into FF8 and others, and loved every minute of it. Halo 2 got me through my sophomore and junior years of high school. Fun times. I wish I could rediscover that love but life is in the way right now. I have a 2 year old girl with a boy on the way. Maybe when they are a bit older I can enjoy gaming with them.
Likewise John D. I was huge on gaming up until my old boy was born (I was around your age). When he started gaming at 6 years old, I got back into it. Let me guess, you're wife isn't a gamer, is she?
Yep, only just rounding them up now with this, but they were all very enjoyable. I would’ve happily watched many more videos/longer cuts of footage. I’d watch it as a 4 hour movie, it was good to watch. I think they should get roped in to doing an annual trip. Kelsey, Hine and Reggie would be great on a Japan trip too. Selfishly I’d just want Hine finding wrestling stuff for a long time. What I’m trying to say was, I enjoyed all the Japan stuff. I’ve spent a lot of time in Yakuza games too and they are very faithful, for a fantasy based on reality.
Nice pickups guys! Im in Japan right now. We went crazy on the classics for the famicom, super famicom, gb, gba and ps1. We've allready picked up like 30 games. We went to Tokyo, Osaka and Kyoto. Nara and Hiroshima are next. Its awesomeee
@@Rowjin_Z We didn't find a tech district like Akihabara or DenDen town in Kyoto. However, there are a lot of Book Offs to check out (Mortal Kombat 2 for super famicom for 1500 yen woohooo!) South of Inari station there is Ojamakan, an excellent store with good prices. There are some A-too's to find, but their prices are fairly high. The Giant Budda was indeed impressive!
@@Charlie97L Yes, the game came with a separate list with all the fatalaties, friendships and babalities. The European PAL version didn't include that. Also the ingame fatalaties are showed in black and white. I was also looking for the PS1 version of MK2 (Japan only), but that game is very rare.
Loved seeing what you bought! When I was in Japan, I had trouble figuring out which import games I could play with limited Japanese literacy. I did pick up Taiko no Tatsujin on the Vita, Phoenix Wright on the Switch (which is in English but only Japan got a physical version) and a pearl blue Gameboy Micro over there. And a stack of Gameboy games that were less than a dollar each. I want to go back now!
Yeah, apparently Panzer Dragoon Orta is like that too. MS did something that apparently patches Fable at the expense of several other games' compatibility.
Japan, has some great finds . I grew up and had childhood memories playing my brother's game and watch, Famicom and the game boy. Some games are strange but worth playing.
'81, '82 (2 of them) and an '83 280zx cars. I daily drive my '82 280zx slicktop 5 speed. lol Also wanted to mention that all 4 of my Z cars are 5 speeds and 2 seater coupes. 2 being slicktops and 2 being T-tops.

You don't want to reassign the "X" and "O" buttons using that feature, because you're not changing the menu functionality of the buttons, you're just swapping the buttons around. It'll solve your issue with cancelling and accepting in system menus, but will screw up controls in actual games .

As a Japanese student myself preparing for N3, my advice is that, the sooner you start learning Kanji, the better. Just buy the basic Kanji books and start memorizing.

I love those videos. And thanks for the tip on Card Captor Sakura for PSX. I always appreciate games to learn Japanese as it does not have kanji on the texts. Another one would be Zelda Links Awakening DX for GBC and for a modern one, Pokémon Sun and Moon. With Pokémon you can adjust to your level, you can play only in hiragana or with kanji.
We did get Mushihimesama here in the US on Xbox 360. I remember buying it at gamestop, and downloading it digitally. God I love that game. I am building a custom Mame arcade just for it now. There is a secret boss at the end of the game that is unlocked if you beat the game without dying.

you must have a 1.6 xbox. Turn off 480p in settings and the Double Steal games will work.

FYI you can swap the Circle and X buttons on the Vita. Go to settings> Accessibility> Button Assignments :)

Pink Sweets: Ibara Sorekara is a sequel to another great Cave shooter, Ibara. Cave put out the best shooters ever made IMO.

I played and beat Silent Hill Origins on PSP and it was so good, especially for a handheld game. Very impressive, I played it in English though.

Loved the video and really loved the whole Japan videos. I've always wanted to go to Japan and those videos were epic.
As a Japanese student myself preparing for N3, my advice is that, the sooner you start learning Kanji, the better. Just buy the basic Kanji books and start memorizing.

I go a lot for work. Great to see a lot of places I visit when in Japan myself. I am actually leaving for a week in Ominato (Mutsu) on monday. It's much quieter up there ;)

I love those videos. And thanks for the tip on Card Captor Sakura for PSX. I always appreciate games to learn Japanese as it does not have kanji on the texts. Another one would be Zelda Links Awakening DX for GBC and for a modern one, Pokémon Sun and Moon. With Pokémon you can adjust to your level, you can play only in hiragana or with kanji.

We did get Mushihimesama here in the US on Xbox 360. I remember buying it at gamestop, and downloading it digitally. God I love that game. I am building a custom Mame arcade just for it now. There is a secret boss at the end of the game that is unlocked if you beat the game without dying.
