- This is a solid and easy to learn shuffle solo you can play without any bends or fancy footwork. The idea is to use rhythms and spaces and let the timing do the talking. With you it happened! For just a little better than two and a half years I've been struggling trying to find the blues groove. I've practiced straight harp old standards and flirted with many CZcams blues greats, even took a 5 week course with our Scottish friend. Just wanted to tell you with this, your short, "Easy Solo in G," it finally clicked for me. I'm not blowing the same notes as you but watching you and listening to the backing track lets me lay down what I have in the right places. It is like a great fog has lifted....Oh, I could go on and on...can you tell I'm excited. Thank you Annie
On "Orange Dude Blues" John Sebastian and I each had a regular D and a low D harp, and one of us would play the "high part" while the other took the "low part". I think I had a Marine Band in D and a Big River in Low D.
John is a real joy to share the stage with - he's very present and he really goes for it with musical conversations. Just a genius mind, that's all.

Great lesson , The lessen the hind the lesson here is that you don't have to be the world's greatest technician in order to play the blues. The the right notes.
The double tap the triplets the timing, amthe controlled vibrato, all those elements create the foundation. Thanks for sharing this Annie. It's it gives me more confidence but I am headed in the right direction

I highly recommend Annie's course Blues Harmonica Blueprint. Most professionally produced video course out there, and at a bargain price compared to most others.

I do both, with tongue-blocking making up 70-80% of my playing. I find U-blocking to be initially effective for getting single notes, but it can really get in the way when trying to get certain sounds like "T" articulation and various tongue-slapping techniques.
