BEFORE THE START OF THE WORK
Only a trained specialist with identification documents is allowed to work on a forklift truck. The same applies to the repair of equipment - it is performed only by professionals. Persons without education and access are prohibited from operating the equipment.
The unit must operate only on a flat, clean, non-greasy surface. Even small bumps in the way of the undercarriage can harm the loader. In addition, the work surface must ensure sufficient adhesion of the floor and wheels, as well as be equipped with a slope for liquid drainage.
OTHER ASPECTS OF PREPARING THE LOADER AND THE OPERATOR FOR WORK:
check the technical condition of the unit daily, if malfunctions are detected, take measures to eliminate
refueling and recharging only in designated areas
if the mast of the loader is higher than 3 meters, take measures to strengthen the load and stabilize
it near the place of operation of the equipment, have a serviceable fire extinguisher
the operator always needs to use seat belt and PPE helmet, shoes, gloves
It is necessary to start the loader smoothly, making sure that there are no obstacles to movement nearby
DURING WORK
It is not recommended for the operator to wear clothes with long sleeves - the equipment is equipped with many levers, the risk of hitting which is present. At a minimum, outerwear should fit snugly to the arms.
A load is placed on the pitchfork, the weight of which corresponds to the characteristics of the equipment. Overloading is unacceptable. Do not exceed the maximum speed when driving. The heavier the load placed on the pitchfork, the slower the movement.
The operator should be careful and attentive when manipulating in poorly lit rooms. If natural or artificial light is not enough, it is necessary to install additional lighting devices at the place of work. However, it is forbidden to use freely hanging lamps.
During the lifting or lowering of the mast, there should be no people in the radius of operation of the equipment (4-5 meters). Especially when bulky or view-limiting loads are lifted/moved. It is not recommended to work with bulk products on a forklift truck.
It is unacceptable to leave the loader with the pitchfork raised. Especially when there is a load on them. It is impossible to place products in the upper part of the fork - the load is distributed evenly.
Gasoline units have system indicators. Pay special attention to controlling the temperature of gasoline - it should not heat up more than 50 degrees.
The equipment is stationary when the load is placed on the pitchfork. After placing the fork, it is slightly raised, tilted back so that the load is stabilized. When the equipment is driving, the pitchfork is raised 20-30 cm above the floor. A brake is used before tilting the mast. It is necessary to move with caution along corridors and similar bottlenecks.
When working with loaders, stackers, reach trucks, electric trolleys, the voltage of the battery is important. It should always be possible to recharge or replace the battery when the voltage drops by even 10%.
OTHER IMPORTANT RULES:
when driving along a line crossing the trajectory of people, it is necessary to use a warning sound signal about the approach of equipment
. the speed of the loader on an uneven floor and on turns is always lower than on a flat surface and a straight trajectory
. keep a safe distance - when braking, the equipment will not stop this second
. it is forbidden to transport people and lean out of the cab
. the driver holds the steering wheel with two hands
avoid emergency braking when the unit is loaded
if the loader has started to fall, it is necessary to lean in the opposite direction of the fall
do not place anything on the roof of the cab - it protects the driver from falling loads
. Do not stand or walk under the raised pitchfork, even when there are no loads on them
, it is better not to turn on the reverse gear when the load is lifted - it is very likely to fall
It is not allowed to lift loads with two loaders. Also, when working, it is necessary to listen to the operation of mechanisms - whether there are any extraneous sounds, creaks, noises. If any, take troubleshooting measures.
AFTER WORK
The loader is always stored with the pitchfork lowered during non-working hours. Upon completion of loading/unloading activities, the lever is set to the neutral position, the handbrake is turned on, and the wheels are locked if necessary.
It is forbidden to independently change the design of the fork unit to give it special properties or increase the load capacity. It would be more correct to sort the cargo into smaller batches.
