    Bought my champagne face model just a month ago, really impressed with it! Fits snugly under a shirt & & feels incredibly light on the wrist & as you say in your review-highley accurate (mine running probably about the same as your demo model)
    Literally was walking past a watch display in a jewllers shop when it caught my eye, it really is an eye catcher, the pictures on line don't express its real finesse (& as in the review the black dial isn't it's best face)
    As "btw" it sits beautifully on my less than delicate 7.5 inch wrist, if 8"inch & above the supplied alligator wrist strap would be too small, something for the big boys to think about.

    I bought the cream dial model, and absolutely loving it. Mine runs at +2 secs per day which is well within COSC even though it isn't a chronometer plus 5 Yr warranty - that sums up Longines if nothing else. They truly care for their watches and will stand by them after sales ..... I'd be surprised if they don't become a lot more popular as the prestige brands get ever more out of reach to most people. Longines is definitely under-priced at today's prices for what you get.

      Yes the brand gives a lot for less! They were under Omega in sales last year. Omega 7.5% swiss watch sales, Longine 5.6% of all swiss watches sold in 2021. So not bad. People are buying them and almost as much as they buy Omega!

    Very nice looking watch. My only criticism is that it's slightly too large in diameter and lug to lug. I have an early 1960s 9ct gold Flagship.

    Very nice, the Conquest Calendar is nice as well with the date at 12. I believe longines is very popular in China & actually just about the biggest selling Swatch Group brand. I've look to buy some of their heritage line watches before pre owned, but they don't tend to come up much, I get the impression a lot of people like them, but don't actually buy them.

    Beautiful timepiece. Longines is definitely a quality brand. I know that many people are very much into the case back. Cool, to each his own. I prefer the manufacturer put that expense into better time keeping and finish. Another hot button for me is power reserve. Who doesn't want 80 hours. Anyway, enjoyed the review.

      I'm terrible at names of non-english origin. But to be fair when I talk to people from Quebec they never prounce the english words spot on either. In my day job I speak to them a least 1-2 a week but I do not correct them over the phone as I find it rude and I understand the words they are saying anyways.

I think my grandfather had a Longines, because believe it or not this was a brand name I had heard of before I was a watch person. But I probably thought they were long out of business. Great review, I have the crème dial one.
    With the small second, i'd hoped that they instead put the powermatic 80 movement for this piece, since you cant really tell apart a higher beat movement to a lower beat ones with this ss.
    Among the Swatch group, Longines is the highest in terms of sale, right after Omega.
    Unfortunately, I cant exactly recall from which year the report was.
    Id hope Longines separate themselve from the Swatch group and become once again independant.
    With their current offering, id gladly buy more pieces from them if they were to become independant.

    • @EscapementWatch
      @EscapementWatch Před 3 lety +4

      nah this movement is better then the powermatic 80. the 80 suffers from plastic parts, isochronism effects due to longer power reserve, harder to service outside of swatch and based on the 2824 eta which has reverser gear issues if you wind it up to fast. a delicate fragile movement that i never recommend personally. This is 2892 based higher teir and better in every way movement. One to be proud of.

      @verbrauchers.7614 Před 3 lety +1

      Hm, never thought of it from the actual techinical standpoint.
      Im aware of its delicacy and qc longitude when it first introduced to the lower tier of the swatch group, but never really delve into it that much.
      Ive always thought it's lacking in terms of the power reserve compared to its bretheren.
      I appriciate the newfound info!

    It is RARE these days for a dress watch to have lume. That's actually the FIRST THING on the priority list. It doesn't have to be that bright or extensive. You just want the ability to tell time in the dark even if you have to struggle a bit at it. Whether it's on a plane while they turn off the lights or in your bed when you wake up in the middle of the night and reach for your watch You don't want a watch, any watch, that does not have lume -- irrespective of the price or quality.
