Steve Kekana made a very funny confession of SABC's Ba kae. He said that when he started singing in isiZulu during his mbaqanga days he couldn't speak a word of isiZulu. Kekana is a North Sotho(SePedi) speaker. His producer at time, Tom Vuma made him sing in that language. Boy, was he good or what. Anyway, he learnt isiZulu very quickly. He used to be interviewed by late great Radio Zulu DJ, Cyril Bongani 'Kansas City' Mchunu in the 80s and his isiZulu was good.

I know of all people who accidentally through wars in KZN that drove people all over the country and neighbouring countries were assimilated into other tribes. Geganas are joined by Temas(Ndima), Ledwaba(Lidwaba), Masemola(Masimula) and many others with that background. Let's give it to Steve, his SePedi is flawless.
