    I just purchased this unit a few hours ago and already love the design and options. Unit started working right away in my crawl space area. Started with 62 % humidity , took it down to 50 % in a few hours. I'm using the bucketless option since my floor sump is close by . The wireless app is super cool too. I own two of these and I'm about to buy a third. My house is 5.100 sf and 165 feet long on a single level in KY where the humidity gets crazy a few months out of the year. These have been life savers, honest to God. Easy to store in the winter and we just roll them out in the summer as needed. To anyone having trouble getting the air filters out. You need to get enough traction to "lift" the tab out, pulling towards the front of the unit (the side where the console controls are located). I found I had to try to pull by pressing my finger hard against the side I wanted to pull it out towards, while trying to lift it out of its slot. It helped if I got a fingernail under it with my other hand to help pry it out. Once the filter tab/handle is out, it easy enough to pull out. This process would have been way easier if there was barest amount of a plastic lip to get your finger under to pull it out. Bad design on that part, but not a deal breaker.

I saw that many people have a lot of difficulty cleaning the filter due to pulling it out. That is why I just tried to pull it out now and it only took 20 seconds I managed to remove the 2 filters from the machine. It's not difficult, you just have to move it in and out a bit. We love it so far :)

    This is a very good design, and after doing quite a bit of research on dehumidifiers in general, as I am replacing a Whirlpool unit that lasted me since 1991, and also a Sears unit that ran from about 1973 till maybe 4 or 5 years ago. Upon unboxing, I was very very impressed with how well packed this machine was, banding straps to ensure everything stays together, and the overall quality of this machine is beyond belief. This video is done exceptionally well, and I will leaf though the instruction manual and then get this new machine up and running. Once again, outstanding product, and also of note this machine does not raise the inside temperture like my old one did.

    Still confused. So if I have the humidifier on the bucket and have the drain line in with gravity draining, do I set it up like the bucket less mode where I press and hold the fill mode and up arrow? Also does the bucket fill if the drain were to somehow block?

    • @MideaAmerica
      @MideaAmerica  Před 2 měsíci

      Thank you for your question, @AFpaleoCon. You can utilize gravity draining in two ways: with or without the bucket. If you opt for the bucket-less mode, you'll need to simultaneously press and hold the 'fill mode' and 'up arrow' buttons. In the event of a blockage or disconnection in the drain, the bucket will begin to fill with water. Have a great day!

    • @AFpaleoCon

      @@MideaAmerica I appreciate the fast response! It seems to me like the tabs in the bucket are depressing button on the bottom of the unit preventing it from going into the draining mode when the unit is seated on the bucket. I cannot get the unit to change states when holding the up arrow and fill mode buttons when the unit is atop the bucket. Correct me if I'm wrong but is it not the purpose of the depressible grey tabs on the unit and the protrusions on the bucket to somehow set a mode of the unit? To summarize: My goal is to have the unit on the bucket, and draining using the gravity drain port into a pump already utilize that goes to the stack, but also have the bucket under the unit in case the pump failed and the unit would then start filling the bucket until it shuts itself off.

      If you're putting the dehumidifier atop the bucket, you do not set it to bucketless mode. If the continuous drain hose is connected, it drains out of that. If the hose port is plugged, it drains into the bucket.

    the filters on mine are so tight fitting there is no fingers or hands strong enough to get them out without causing damage so I used a thin stiff guitar pick to help pry it out a bit so I could pull it the rest of the way. I guess any thin stiff enough tool could to the same but damage to the finish or worse breaking the plastic could happen so a guitar pick for me is perfect and just enough to get it started. Note: I did the following when the bucket was full. (you don't want to dry run the pump). This is for the Midea cube dehumidifer:
    For those trying to figure out with the Models with built in pump (pump mode) to get the unit to pump out its own bucket: 1, remove the unit from the bucket. 2. Attach the included INlet hose, the one with the screen filter on the end and push in fitting on the other, align the fitting into its slots and twist it downward to lock in place. The inlet hose should point down when placed back on the bucket and rest on the bottom of the bucket, but before u put in back on the bucket, 3. Remove the small slide out panel on the back where the garden hose (large) and small 1/4" long hose outlet is, you will see where it separates, this will give you access to the 2 outlet connections. 4. Now put the unit back on its bucket. 5. Put the plug back on the larger garden hose connection, u dont need this in pump mode as the unit drains through the inlet hose (this is what worked for me). 6. Install the long 1/4 hose to the push-in connection (now that you have that access panel off). 7. start the unit up and put in pump mode.... NOTE: I did all this when the bucket was FULL, When the bucket is full, you'll notice 2 white squares kind of pop up and bobble around, thats the full sensor. When working 1st time you should hear a breif grinding noise as the pump comes on and primes itself, then in a couple of seconds water will come out the long 1/4" hose.

    One thing mentioned in the video is that the fill level doesn't operate while in pump mode. That seems very dangerous, and it could cause a big flood. Can you please add an emergency shutoff feature in case the pump fails or gets clogged and the bucket will overflow with water. You could do that via a firmware update or using the app. (Or did I misunderstand, and the bucket fill level feature which allows you to choose how far to fill the bucket before the unit shuts off, is unsupported during pump mode, which means that if the pump fails the unit will still shut off before flooding your space)

    • @MideaAmerica
      @MideaAmerica  Před rokem +1

      Hello, user-xw3qi3rf7c. This unit does not automatically stop while in pump mode, this is the whole purpose of it. So the unit can continuously drain without needing to empty the bucket every time, this is why the unit is equipped with a hose to redistribute any water generated directly to a drain. For example through a door, window, shower drain, etc. For any questions or concerns, please reach out to us at DigitalSupport@midea.com.

Also, I wonder if it turns off automatically. One way you could test this risk-free for the sake of our joint curiosity is by putting the unit in a shower or bath tub and running it with the condensation line taped inside the tub taped with duck tape in case it starts pumping at some point.

    I just bought one of these, it is EXTREMELY heavy! It is also much, much larger than I expected. I read the dimensions before purchasing, but when it's in front of you in your (small) house, it is just massive. I bought this to keep on my first floor near the bedrooms and bathroom, as it's much more attractive than a traditional basement dehumidifier. It feels like it blocks half my hallway.
    Also, the bucket is about 5lbs empty, so it's going to be impossibly too heavy to lift high enough to dump when filled. I really wish someone would make something just like this, but half its size. I wouldn't care if it'd require more frequent emptying, just make it manageable.
    Also, unboxing was the biggest pain in my ass. Some genius at the factory taped the power cord to the bottom of the box. So I had to balance the component on my knee (there wasn't enough cord length available to set it down without toppling the whole thing), while pulling our the bucket with my free hand (which was attached to the bottom styrofoam that was wedged into the bottom), then pulling out all remaining contents so I could detach the cord & tubing anchored to the bottom. Nothing like pissing off a customer on their first impression. I haven't even plugged the damn thing up!

You should clearly state continous drain mode will not work with the unit on the bucket. Its misleading in the video an manual. Im guessing the cases remained the same and the 50 pint unti pump mode is the reason for the 20 pint looking this way. The fan speed can be set to either low or high. Setting the fan speed to high facilitates quicker moisture removal, while setting the fan speed to low results in less rapid moisture removal.

    Unclear after watching video; there appear to be two sections for using drainage hose, one of which involves using the bucket. Why use bucket if hose is attached? Also, cannot determine if hooking up the pump drain and longer hose means that the dehumidifier has to be manually set in order to have pump work. Ideally, I'd like to not worry about when the bucket is filled by having the pump automatically work. Am I missing something? If the pump has to be switched each time, I see no benefit to using it instead of simply letting the unit drain via garden hose, and gravity.
