i LOVE how nami, even though up to that point shes been scared as FUCK of crocodile and baroque works, as soon as she sees vivi be so shocked and angry and sad - she immediately tries to comfort her and is super duper serious, and suddenly seems very confident and brave. i think it really says a lot about her character - she is like the mom of the group a bit, but shes also very goofy when nothing serious is going on. like going "teehee well protect you but only for an insane amount of money~ :)" but as soon as things get serious shes all business and is ready to throw down. i love her

garp in the anime is way better than live action
I think garp is one of the better anime adaption characters in the show. Its definately different but I really didnt mind it and it was better in lots of ways (ie. making it more realistic for a live action).

That line always resonated with me as well. It’s very Luffy and it’s one of the rare “captain” moments we get from him in early one piece.

For the eyecatchers (the bounty poster mid cut thing) EACH member of the straw hat has their OWN theme tune so that gives away whose poster it will be before the poster even fully appears

Because in the first episodes (5-10 I don't remember how many it has been years) the music was wrong. Sometimes Zoro's music played while it showed Luffy etc. Obviously this has been corrected by now but I can see how someone might be confused.

It didn’t use to be that way. The music was interchangeable so it was pretty random. But they standardised it to make one theme for each Strawhat.
AND they also guess before the theme plays so it doesn’t matter.
She will definitely grow lol

The live action Garp loves his food too, but yes, their characters are still bit different. We will definitely see more of his in-depth development in the anime 😊

If you guys are liking this part of the series this much, then man are you in for the best journey of your lives 😂. This beginning part of the grand line is one of the lower points of the series. And this is coming from an absolute One Piece stan, I adore everything about this series. I'm not saying this part is bad, because it's not, it's very great and enjoyable stuff. But when you compare it to everything that comes after, holy crap does it pale in comparison loll. No doubt in my mind this show will become your guys' #1 favorite lol. Enjoy the ride!
@@Pixxelll Eh, not really. It's not any worse than any other long running series. It's long sure, but not really badly paced. Certain parts I would agree yea, but nowhere near anything to ruin the experience. The vast majority of the anime is paced fine.
@@RandomPerson-od1njI love One Piece but we do need to address the pacing post timeskip. It’s of course inevitable when such a long running series is still going on. There is a reason they’re working on a remaster with WIT studio.
@@Nicopear As I said previously, not really lol. Certain parts yes, sure (as I already said). But to generalize and just say "post-timeskip we need to address the pacing" is ridiculous. Some of Dressrosa could’ve been paced better and some parts of Whole Cake Island could’ve been paced better. That's it. To lump all of "post-timeskip" into those two small portions is just disingenuous. Long ≠ poor pacing. Wano is long, but not poorly paced. There's a difference.
And also one last little thing. The remaster with WIT is not because the pacing is bad lol. It's just a remaster because it's old. This started in the late 90s. HxH got a remaster, FMA got a remaster. Many shows get remasters. OP is one of, if not the best, anime of all time. Of course there will be a remaster whether the pacing is bad or not lol. That's inevitable.

He’s one of my favorite characters. I hope he will smash blackbeards head. My dream would come true! And I could die in (one) piece 😂
Garp is a genius.. he did all this on purpose. He just wanted to see their brave hearts because he felt that they are special. And always plays dumb.. but if its getting serious he will be 100% serious and scary 😂 think about it.. he is one of the only characters who could fight Roger the king of the pirates. He could avoid the attack of morgen but I think he didn’t care or was to lazy.. Garp the hero. I’m sure he will play a big role in the final war if there is one.

You know, I do kinda like that they know who Garp is, it makes his earlier appearances more fun. Sure, it robs them of the huge reveal way down the line, but it's kind of a neat trade off.
i dont think its worth it, we dont really see garp much early on. at least that stretch has a second reveal on par with the garp reveal

The Garp reveal in the live action was not worth it in my opinion too. It was so well done in the anime right when no one expected it.

They are Not even translated. They have the names of english days in the German dub too. Only her Name Changed to another Englisch Name. Maybe they Just Thought that MS Bloody Sunday sounded better than MS All Sunday.

Its a great Garp intro. Dude eating like 800 donuts in a sitting, falling asleep while standing up and then taking a full slash across the chest and not even realizing it because it means nothing to him. Like how stupid strong is this dude?

Before one piece even started oda created a few different one shots which is basically the equivalent of a pilot episode but just one chapter to try different things out. In one of them garp was shown and was the one who gave luffy the strawhat. I don't think it said his name but luffy was calling him grandpa. So it's almost certain that the dog mask was given in case anyone recognized the design. After the reveal, garp was never again shown wearing the dog mask.

@danielduarte6802 that's a weird assumption to make. Did Garp NEED Mihawk's help? Or did Garp just use Mihawk as one of the many tools available at his disposal? And how much did Garp really NEED Mihawk when Mihawk didn't even capture Luffy? In fact Mihawk allowed Luffy to escape and then didn't give Garp any useful information which set Garp back. And in the end Garp found Luffy in spite of Mihawk getting in his way.
Maybe you should pay more attention to things before you talk about them.
I had completely forgotten about this appearance of Garp. He's definitely got a bit of a different vibe, but it still sets him up pretty neatly for future reveal the live action has already spoiled you on. Later on you'll find that he becomes a bit more like the stern but eccentric scot from the live action; it is pretty obvious to me that the creators of the anime didn't understand Garp's nature yet at this point because Oda hadn't written the reveal yet! (And Oda might not even have been entirely certain what he wanted the character to be like either since the cigar will eventually be gone. Same with the dog mask, although that could also be due to the similarity of the character to a character in an earlier oneshot of his prior to his creation of One Piece.)
I dont think he's all that different at all. He's very whimsical later in the series too. He just also has serious moments. Having serious moments doesn't take away that he'll still be goofy as well.
I like that both of you really like one piece at this point in the story. I cant wait till you guys get to the great parts of it. Just wait for alabasta to start ramping up
For Miss All Sunday, I'll give an anti-hint about her powers. Remember how, when he's first introduced in the anime, Buggy did something that looked like he was making a guy levitate with his devil fruit ability? To keep what it is a secret? Kind of the same thing here. Her power is very weird, as are a lot of the Grand Line devil fruit users' abilities.
I looooved Alabasta arc, especially each scene with Vivi being sad, frustrated, and crying. She is easily one of my favourite character to watch in one piece. I always end up tearing up whenever she's struggling hard or tearing up too..
I absolutely love that they were immediately pissed and were down to fk Crocodile up!!

Miss All Sunday saved old tube guy before the boat exploded. See how her hands came out first before the explosion?
She knew the boat was rigged. Old tube guy survived although the blast still hurt him due to close proximity. Hence when he returned he was pretty injured.
Also, knowing Miss All Sunday backstory, it just makes sense that she saved him rather than killing.
I don't think anyone who isn't already caught up with the story is watching reactions.

I love you both so much... but I need to say this because I'm gonna explode (not really, haha): it's very funny that you try to guess who's gonna appear in the "going to advertisment" segments; but as a musician I cannot stand that you didn't guess that each character has it's own musical theme, and it's played before the face appears, so it's a spoiler if you learn the theme.
I know I'm ruining your competition, and I'm ashamed; but now you learned something interesting and you can try to figure out what the music tells about the character, wich instrument reflects him/her, what style of music, or type of melody, etc.
And this is justice with genius KOHEI TANAKA, one of the best composers you can get in anime, movies, or whatever. I was very frightened with live action music because anime is one of the best I've ever heard BY FAR, but fortunately Sonia Belousova did an amazing job.

Garp is represented very differently in the Live Action, they manage to capture slightly glimpses into his actual personality though. Garp in the live action is simply his "super focused serious mode" with tiny sparkles of personality at times. REAL Garp in the manga/anime is the total opposite, BIGGGG personality traits, with slight sparkles of seriousness and focus.
the counter to all the monsters on the mugiwara ship is Nami...hahaa Here we are introduced to the 3 Shicibukai or warlords, 1. Mihawk has already met. 2. Jinbe is just a story but from the fishman race. 3.Crocodile we will meet him. all of their levels are strong... this will be more interesting continue...
