Excellent video analysis. After so much time with Senjutsu, I'm curious to hear if your opinions have changed. The album has really grown on me with time. The Writing on the Wall is just killer. I feel like Bruce approaches it as a worn, tired gunslinger. Stratego is just classic Maiden and it's a fantastic song. I don't feel like there are any weak songs but I will admit to being annoyed that it takes so long for the singing in Hell on Earth. Days of Future Past is just classic Smith/Dickinson as well. It's a personal highlight. And finally, Lost in a Lost World and Darkest Hour are simply amazing. As a 30+ year fan of Maiden, I rank this album very high in their collection.

Really love this album!! Hell on Earth is my favorite song on this album. The only song that somewhat warmed up to me was Time Machine, which is still my least favorite song off this album. Love everything else! Actually picked it up on release day and was in my CD player for three and a half weeks. Actually took it out the day I picked up the new KK Priest CD, which I also loved. At one point I played Hell on Earth 22 times in a row. I also place this just after A Matter of Life and Death which is my favorite of the reunion lineup. This version of Maiden is my favorite and I love the 3 guitar attack. Been listening to Maiden since ‘81 and my first time seeing them was the Piece of Mind tour. I do love or like all their albums and still listen to all of them ( even the Blaze albums). But , Piece of Mind is my ultimate favorite! Seen Maiden live 7 times through the years and never disappointed. Even when I saw the X-Factor tour. UP THE IRONS FOREVER!!

As an old school classic era 80s maiden fanatic and not fussed about their 90s output and the, reunion era ( A bit too musical theatre for my metal head) Senjutsu is the best album since SS and much better than BNW and AMOLAD to my veteran ears. The Parchment is an absolutely stunning piece of music and strongly reminds me of the brilliant To tame a land with attitude of the powerslave album. Beast is No1 though and always will be because you can't top perfection.

Agreed with a lot of points guys. Days Of Future Past is my favorite and my first thought was that it almost could've been lifted straight off Bruce's Chemical Wedding Album. For me, I think it's because of his vocal delivery on the song more than anything. His phrasing is very reminiscent of how it was at that time. Really enjoy Hell On Earth and The Time Machine also. Lost In A Lost World is another highlight for me. There's not a song I don't really like on Senjutsu though. Still a bit early, but I feel like this album will have a lasting impact on me more so than their last few albums have.

I just love the consistency, the orchestration, the concepts behind this album (this is really an ALBUM, not a collection of 1-2 outstanding tracks, 2 good tracks plus fillers here and there.). I feel that this album it is like the sum of the latest 15 years of Iron Maiden creative voyage and development, just the peak of this creative wave. My top tracks are :
1 The Parchment (just a musical masterpiece, beyond the genre of Metal)
    2) Hell on Earth
    2) Senjutsu
    2) Death of the Celts (yes, yes, all at second place, just below The Parchment)

I just listened to the album & instead of feeling this was an album that was made to blow me away, I think this was an album made to create moods. I relate some aspects of metal to what straight ahead jazz was & I'll explain. Straight ahead jazz is very complex & is an aquired taste from listening on a regular basis. However every album or song that was made by straight ahead Jazz artist didn't have to be complex meaning that sometimes it's O.K. to contrast. I would give this album a 7.5 if I had to rate it. I left some recommendations on your (What is your Heaviest Metal) & The if I'm spelling it right (Mushugga) review. I think you will be satisfied with the list because they're not "Dumb Genres"😄 As far as those (Body Count) song recommendations you may also want to checkout the full album because minus 99 problems it's a whip ass album. Great episode, guys!!
The major problem that is not helping Bruce vocals on this album is in the production.
The fact that they used a " Karaoke " guitar over Bruce is not helping at all, as they are both fighting the space of the same sound spectrum.
For exemple , If you remove the " Karaoke" guitar in the verses of Stratego, the vocals would be awesome and have place to shine.
Check out in this album, most of the time you feel the vocals are good, it s when there s no lead guitar over them.

I'd actually probably give it a 6.5. Great review guys! Glad you took the time to go through and digest it, unlike Martin Popoff, who puked up a bunch of words and called it a review. I’m noticing a lot of comparisons to western music for Writing on the Wall. To me it’s more like Anglo Saxon Mid-evil folk guitar sound. Considering they are old school Brit’s that’s were the roots are. I’ll leave a link to a Anglo Saxon folk song, after hearing it made sense to me. Great job again. Enjoy your channel!! czcams.com/video/VQfdqIyqJ4g/video.html

Right on Tracey - Slaughtered Princess! Glad you like it as much as Grimby and I. I put it over BNW but just by a tiny bit. Cheers!

This is not anything at all like the Maiden I love. Bruce sounds great.but the songwriting is stale and the playing is lackluster. Then again, I don't think they've made a good album since 7th Son. But that's me.

From a musical ability I would say they're top notch from a standpoint of catchy riffs and hooks they're nonexistent.
