    Would be cool to make two versions of each. One clean and set up properly. And one set broken down, fallen and shattered as if during a raid or barrage.

    For some reason, I always seem to get more excited by the smaller scatter terrain, rather than what would typically be the more impressive larger pieces. Perhaps it is due to the fact that the devil is, so often, in the details. Brilliant work my friend!

  • @annasstorybox7906
    @annasstorybox7906 Před 9 měsíci

    I made my own basing material using acrylic texture paste intended to be used on a canvas for artsy streaks and bumps in... I don't know... Modern art?
    Anyway, this stuff comes in tubes but also in buckets. I've found it in arts and crafts stores and even many hardware stores or places that have hobby level art supplies sell stuff like that... Mixed with some equally cheap acrylic paint and white glue it stays fresh and wet in small badges. I mixed one of the old wash buckets from GW woth of the stuff and it hasn't hardened yet.
    And yea.. Part of the reason I had an empty wash is that I spilled a good amount.

    Dunno if anyone's else recommended this yet elsewhere in the comments, but just thought I'd mention that you might have more success with your mud paste in the future by swapping out the all-purpose filler for the same amount of flexible modelling paste. • @JohnDlugosz
    @JohnDlugosz Před 2 lety

    The targets look brand new and unused. It should have the fibers messed up from the original rope from having arrows poked in and pulled out. I think they end up getting used far beyond their "pretty" life. Much of the fibers will be matted into a coarse felt and the original spiral will kind of melt together. It may even have repairs.

      Yep, just one of the types we get in the UK. It's main advantage is the colour, so if it gets damaged it isn't so obvious, but it has drawbacks, it's extremely fibrous and grained, so it doesn't take the pencil method of wood grain, or any indented carving very well.
      Otherwise I'm pretty sure it's the same as US foam, same springyness etc. It's certainly not like the styrodur from Europe BMC uses more these days, that stuff is awesome. Need to pick some up to experiment with actually...
