The Young and the Restless' iconic Melody Thomas Scott (Nikki Newman) chats with Michael Fairman for a very special conversation honoring her 45th anniversary with the CBS daytime drama, which is this month in February.
In addition, Melody talks on her current red-hot storyline which finds Nikki battling her addiction to booze, after her new nemesis, Jordan (Colleen Zenk), and the granddaughter she never knew was alive, Claire (Hayley Erin), kidnapped her and force fed her an IV-filled with alcohol. That sent Nikki off the deep end, and she has been attempting to return to sobriety only to go back to the bottle. During our chat, Melody talks on playing a drunk Nikki, working with Zenk, and where the story may go from here.
Over her 45 year-run, Nikki has had numerous marriages including to Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) and Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman). Melody recalls some behind the scenes moments at Nikki's nuptials, working with her co-stars, and being part of her on-screen TV family, which includes: Braeden, Joshua Morrow (Nick Newman) and Amelia Heinle (Victoria Newman).
Melody also recalls some of the highlights of Nikki's torrid past including her days as a stripper, or the time she was involved with "Crazy Edward" and much more.

her comic moments in the hotel room with Lauren when she waved away the water with the words NOT INTERESTED IN IT and a simple eye roll when Victor is mentioned were the pure LUCY...something she knows so well

Nikki and Jack used to be my favorite couple. Nikki brought out the softer side of Jack..& I'm kinda tired of Victor always ending up with Nikki..One of the reasons I love Nikki and Jack together, is because..it's..different, I wouldn't mind seeing them together again. I'd also like to see Nikki's sister, Casey back..& rekindle things. One more thing I would like to see..(and, I hope Melody sees this, cause..it's an 💡 idea. I would like Nikki to strike up a friendship with..Jerri Jewel (aka Rose) and do a storyline on Cerebral Palsy/CP 😊 :) That's all I wanted to say. Roberta Langhton, Jerri Jewel & Melody, would have quite the shenanigans!! 💕 💘 Love the show!!
