Excellent video. Is november the best month to go and dive with hammerheads in that area or there is an other good time for that ? Been to Banda islands in 2012 and to Nailaka aswell, but nobody told me bout those hammerheads then. Only in Banda Neira some dive center told me that some hammerheads had been seen in a certain area.

Thanks for the compliment. I guess the appearance of schooling hammerheads has been figured out some six, seven years ago, most probably accidentally on liveaboard tours, crossing between Komodo area and Raja, during October and November. Today, these are the months to go if you want to see the hammers, that´s for sure. October seems to be a bit more reliable, regarding on some videos I have seen. So nature, as always....

Lovely video. Can these sites be done as day dives or must it be a liveaboard?

Thanks. Honestly I cannot answer you question properly, since I never checked that. Yet I know that there are divecenters both in Ambon and on the island of Bandaneira, they might go to some of the places around. But do they go to the islands in the Banda Sea like Manuk, Serua etc.? You have to check for yourself.

Fantastic video, I'm gonna suscribe, just a quick question, did you bring the G80/G95 underwater with you? If so how did you get so good colours? Filter? Manual White balance?

      Hi Jesus,
      thanks for all these compliments.
I am using the Lumix Series for a couple of years now, and the precedure was almost the same. Some 60 percent of the colours is produced under water, 40 percent by color correction and grading.
I use the color profile NATURAL, but I don´t change the preset so much. I think it´s better NOT to change Contrast and Colours down to -5 (as some suggest) cause it kills preciseness and punch what you almost cannot save in post.
Generally I use AWB. I tried a white chard once under water using the GH4, but didn´t like the magic mushroom results.
Don´t think the AWB of the G85 is so bad. But I also have to mention my Archon video light here, because it delivers a both strong and natural light - which makes it look somehow "invisible" or "non-existing".
What I get out of this underwater filming shows already pretty good color results. Then I do the finishing at home, mostly correcting colors which may be too saturated, improving some lack of sharpness, things like that.
What I recommend is the plugin Hitfilm Vibrance. It even brings out contrast and colors out of clips which look pretty dull.
Banda Sea´s underwater clips were completely shot using the GH5. But the G85 is a really nice cam, liked it a lot. I used it starting from 2017 until the Banda trip last year.
