I used to do something similar about 16-17 years ago. I setup my works messenger app with a chatbot so when people messaged me it would interact with them when I was away from my desk. People used to chat with it and ask for stuff and it would give them the runaround until I got back to my desk. People would just assume I was being a bit weird.
That shouldn't matter, unless they're really selling a BS tool. What if Bueler is the inspiration, but not the goal. What if the goal isn't to make someone think you're there, but to have a placeholder or microphone or whatever in the room where it happens, even if it says "hey, i can't be right here and right now, but i'm listening, and i look forward to following up - and check out this tea cup!"
@@EllisGodard It is a realistic question therefore it does matter. As if folks are not going to figure things out when you don't respond. Now if he can somehow make it interactive, then it will probably take off like hotcakes. 😄
The sad reality is that the vast majority of online meetings don’t require any level of participation… So it’s a totally fair question, but that’s not our market and the people who need to be present and live are not our target customers
AI and interaction would require huge scale to justify the investment, because the ROI comes from scale on that expensive setup. Besides, that raises ethical, legal, and operational risks - imagine avatars making commitments! But if you set aside the idea of Beulr as a ruse, you set aside those risks. Don't sell trickery; that's just the gimmick - sell efficiency! Treat the video uploads played as a novelty aspect, and you've got a solid, ethical product that solves a problem: the need to be in meetings either that at inconvenient times or that are too lengthy. Then you monetize by offering to record video, caching for later views, at 2x speed, and with transcriptions, and other add-ons. Tier prices for variable playback quality. Encryption, at various levels. Connected accounts, for supervisors or trainers or trainees or lawyer/counsel or whatever, to sit in on meetings - maybe even multiple meetings at the same time. The guy in the robe isn't skipping meetings; he's enjoying the fruits of efficient meeting.
Loved the pitch on Shark Tank. Beulr has a bright future!

Just saw this on Shark Tank. I had the same question that the Sharks had. What if someone asks you a question? Then what? 😄
