My first vehicle was a 1976 Ford F-100...and when I was a little kid, my Dad had a Ford F-150, as did several other male adults I knew in our community. So the Ford F-Series pickups from the late 70's always have a place in my heart, as they remind me of my misspent youth. Best part of these trucks--the smoker window! If you had a truck without air conditioning (as mine did not have), you simply opened that smoker window on a hot day, adjusted the angle just right, drove down the road really fast...and you had air conditioning! These trucks were made for cruising down dirt roads.

The ability to maintain what must be an off-the-cuff stream of conscience(or is it consciousness?) in every video is a rare talent. I just discovered this channel and I was a fan from the first one: a weather report, some half remembered history, berating of the hired help, and a thorough review with gun and cocaine storage suggestions. Brilliant!

Absolutely agree Bill. Pick Up Trucks are the new big American car. We're all running out of rear wheel drive full sized sedans. About all that's left is the Chrysler 300 and then there are Mercedes Benzes. We don't even have any locally manufactured cars in Australia anymore! Thanks so much for your inspiring and funny commentary, it is so much appreciated!

I'm not a Ford guy. But I've always liked the looks of this body style truck. Of course, all trucks of this era were good looking. But each in their own way. I've only owned one Ford in the 28 or so years I've been driving. It was a 2000 Taurus that I only got because I was able to make ridiculously small payments. And as soon as I got it paid off I sold it. Horrible car. I said I'd never own another Ford. But I would definitely make an exception for something like this. Before computers were put in cars they were all pretty okay. So older vehicles are still acceptable in my world.
I think this is why I like this channel. I'm guilty of rambling as much as Bill

Gary Newman did the song "Cars", Gary Wright did the song "Dream Weaver". Gary Moore was a guitarist in the group Thin Lizzy. One of his best solo songs was "Still Got The Blues". Gary Gilmore was a murderer. Get your Garys straight. 😆
The Ford F150, Chevrolet 1500 and Dodge 150 came out as a "Heavy Half Ton" to skate around the emission laws. At that time a truck with a gross vehicle weight (loaded) over a certain weight didn't have to have catalytic converters and burn unleaded gas. The F100, C10 and D10 trucks disappeared. A few years later emission laws were changed so "heavy half" ton and even up to one ton trucks were required to meet stricter emission laws.
