As someone new to 2042 what are you running for load out?

However, if you're new, I recommend flying with the AIM-9Z IR Missiles (AA-11 IR Missiles if you're flying the Russian Helicopters). Those are Heat-Seeking Missiles which will help immensely against other Air Targets
Me and Loanz have been flying together for 13 years now, so we can take out enemy Jets and Helicopters with just our Rocket Pods and 30mm Gun | 1:55 - 12:09 - 15:41
But if you're new, use the IR Missiles so you're alive longer against other Air Vehicles (your biggest threats), so you can practice longer. You don't learn anything in the spawn menu haha
PS | If I'm playing a competitive match I am also 100%, no doubt equipping Heat-Seekers. If the enemy team has decent players, they will know to punish you when you run the Wire-Guided Missile [TOW]. Heat-Seekers are, without a doubt, the better option
