A 16 year old can look like Zendaya. There is a young actress in my daughter's theater class that looks similar. My own daughter's complaint now that she's nearly 18, is that she still looks like she's 12.
I think black girls tend to look a little mature when they're younger... they have more structured cheekbones and whatnot. My 10 year old is as tall as her 10 year old friends but her face has the defined features of a teenager, so I could definitely buy Zendaya as a 16 year old.

It's better than hearing people think you look older than you are and you have expectations you can't fulfill *because* you are still young and inexperienced So imo I think it's better to surprise people's expectations (looking younger but being more mature) than disappoint people (looking older but not having the wisdom at that expected age)

There are sixteen year olds who look like her though. Sure, some may look older or younger, but saying she could pull of a sixteen year old isn't completely out of the question. I'd say it's more how she presents herself, she's more open and confident than most teens (which makes sense since she's been doing this stuff since she was a kid).

I’m like nah they have too many people between us & them & too much to go through to get to us and we showed ID coming in here. Why would they be coming for us? The cops came. It took them 10 minutes to get through all of the people they came straight to us to put us out. Mind you these was Atlanta PD. My friend have been working for APD with the same police dispatching them for 4 years by this time. 🤦🏻♀️Thank God, our husband got back in time to prevent us from being put out by APD for being too young to be in the club because our IDs were in their pockets. 🤦🏻♀️🤪😂 There are worse problems to have I’m good with this one . 😂😂😂 besides to me I’ve always looked my age and I know I look my age because well I’m my age.

Its great to be able to look a s young as you can as it will lend longer time to your career, ESPECIALLY as an actor. But as a female actor, the situation is even more pronounced as casters arent usually loooking for 56yr old females to lead doctor, lawyer and cop dramas. You age out of most careers where your face / social engagement are critical, but even more so for a female. The plethora of studies analysing peoples gut reactions to faces of strangers will show u where we sit with trust, allure and respect and how that differs for faces of males and females of various ages.

We had to show ID to get into the club. It was 21 and over. our husbands left us in the middle of the dance floor to go get drinks at the bar. Bestie noticed cops above us looking down into the crown & said Hey, they’re about to come put us out the club. I’m like nah they have too many people between us & them & too much to go through to get to us and we showed ID coming in here. Why would they be coming for us? The cops came. It took them 10 minutes to get through all of the people they came straight to us to put us out. Mind you these was Atlanta PD. My friend have been working for APD with the same police dispatching them for 4 years by this time. 🤦🏻♀️Thank God, our husband got back in time to prevent us from being put out by APD for being too young to be in the club because our IDs were in their pockets. 🤦🏻♀️🤪😂

But as a female actor, the situation is even more pronounced as casters arent usually loooking for 56yr old females to lead doctor, lawyer and cop dramas. You age out of most careers where your face / social engagement are critical, but even more so for a female. The plethora of studies analysing peoples gut reactions to faces of strangers will show u where we sit with trust, allure and respect and how that differs for faces of males and females of various ages.
