    Bolt, I wanted to sincerely thank you for sharing your experience(s) with us. I’m a non-traditional student, 26, with a non-medical BS transitioning into a nurse anesthesia career. I started following you this summer, consuming every bit of preparatory knowledge I could. I’ve taken to heart your lessons on drive, discipline, persistence and sacrifice. If you want it, go get it; there’s no other way. Your practical advice encouraged me to set a foundational goal for myself to achieve all A’s from prereqs thru Nursing school. I just successfully finished my first 4.0 semester at 15 hours while working nights full time! I appreciate your insights. Good luck in your new practice!
    Cheers.

    Thank you! I have been following you for a while now. I just recently made the brave decision to pursue nursing school after years of battling with myself. But now I am applying to Accelerated bsn programs and hoping for the best. I was a little apprehensive since I'm older but I dont have any kids or excuses as to why I can't pursue my dream.So I'm gonna make it happen!. Keep giving us great content!

    Hey man, I've been watching your videos throughout my process of preparing for anesthesia school over the last 1 1/2 years. They've been inspiring to me and you've done a great job of painting a picture of what to expect. My first semester of anesthesia school starts next week and I've taken your advice by taking some time off to spend with my family. I also read Watchful Care and it gave me a great perspective on the accomplishments of this profession. Any way, just wanted to say thanks and encourage you to keep up the good work with these videos.

    Hey Bolt. I’m a 2nd year undergrad student student getting my bsn. I have been researching prerequisites for Crna school and which courses are most often required. I have seen a lot of different requirements for individual schools and wonder how I should go about taking them... are there some I should definitely take now or some I should wait until later to take? Or should I just stick to my basic bsn program coursework?
    Thank you for your time!!

      Make sure to take your regular BSN prereqs and if you have extra time take an extra chemistry like organic chem. If you really have spare time take physics too, some programs recommend it.

    How long did you work ICU before applying for your CRNA program?
    Did you work at all while in CRNA school?

    • @BoltCRNA
      @BoltCRNA  Před 3 lety +2

      I had 4 years of ICU experience before starting CRNA school. I had every intention of working all through the CRNA program PRN. I realized in the first month it would be impossible to work and never worked at all during CRNA school.

    I saw you mentioned in another comment that you did not work at all while in CRNA school. Do you have a video explaining how you managed living costs and school without working?

      @BoltCRNA  Před 3 lety +2

      Yeah I have a vid on the finances, short answer is student loans I lived off of.

    Hi! I love your videos, they are so informative and helpful. I do have a question for anyone out there...I'm retaking a few science classes for a better grade. Although I'm retaking them, school transcripts will show I only got a C in these classes the first time around. Question is, does anyone know if this will hurt my chances in getting into a CRNA school? Thank you in advance.

      If you made an A the second time it won't hurt you, it shows that you are responsible enough to right your previous wrongs.

    Can you tell me more about the process of turning in references? Do you really have to get them submitted and not see them first? Nerve wrecking...

    • @s.fraser5221
      @s.fraser5221 Před 4 lety +1

      PATRICIA CLARK I start CRNA school in January and based on my personal application process, every school required 3-5 professional references. The chosen references were sent emails to fill out either reference forms provided by the particular school, or to upload a letter of sorts touching on pertinent, applicable points about you (the applicant). YES: nerve wrecking to say the least!! Again, based on my personal experience, you’re in the dark during this process. Hope this gives some clarity!

      I asked the three references to send me a copy of the reference for my file.

    Hello dear iam from followers from Iraq, I have a bachelor's degree anesthesiologist assistant , which means I did not study the nursing college, can anyone who holds a bachelor's degree as an anesthesiologist assistant study master crna in nurse college ?

    • @BoltCRNA
      @BoltCRNA  Před 4 lety +1

      Hello. I'm sorry but no. You would need to come to America and get a bachelors of science in nursing. Then work as an ICU RN for a couple years, then apply for a doctorate in nurse anesthesia program that is 3 years long.

      @@BoltCRNA Hello i completed MSc Nursing may i know what are the benifits of anesthesia nurse?

    Im sure you are doing a service, and thats cool, but i wish you would hold back on the ego. Being a CRNA is no big deal. Just like being a doctor is no big deal. Supposedly you like it, so you worked hard. But in the process, inevitably you lack the things that you missed out on during your singlemindedness. Remember how little anyone actually knows. Stay humble. I write this after reading things you’ve written on SDN, this channel and, i belibe, other places. The ego will not help the place of CRNA’s. People who are wise are aware of how foolish we all are. Egotisical CRNA’s make MDA’s points for them.
