  • Hello yall! Today I take the time to read several of the essays that Stanford read as part of my application. I also include some advice throughout the video, but feel free to jump around!

    Thank you so much for this! I thought I would need to be over eloquent with my words and storytelling but it seems that getting straight to the point is what is going to get me straight into school hopefully! Keep up the great work and advice!

      Yeah, I'm not that great with words so getting to the point works better for me!

      I get being nervous, I was too. The way I was able to calm my nerves was working on alternative plans if I didn't get into the schools I wanted too.

    Thank you so much for sharing! I was a bit confused about the prompts but your essay's are a great help for brainstorming! Once I'm done with my essays, could you please review them? If not, no worries!

    I love your advice so much!! I am currently working on my questbridge and common app application and I have a question, do we have to write a different essay for each college we apply to?

    Thank you so much for recording this video! Just want to ask, for one QB question that asks you which activity is your most meaningful commitment (400 characters limit), did you talk about a same or different experience that you have in your essays and short answers?

    • @AlexAlvaradoB
      @AlexAlvaradoB  Před 2 lety +1

      I don't recall answering that prompt. It may be new. I likely would not have talked about my parent's grocery store or a topic I previously covered. I would have talked about a latino youth group I participated throughout 6 years and how that impacted me. My advice is that you try and include different pieces/components of your life into different prompts. That being said, keep looking around at essays for inspiration!

    Hey, this is an amazing video! I was curious if you have written anything in the additional information section and if so, could you possibly provide me a general idea of what you put in that section?

    • @AlexAlvaradoB
      @AlexAlvaradoB  Před 2 lety

      I know this is super late but hopefully it will be helpful for another application. I did write in my additional information section, and during my year they suggested students should talk about how covid affected their lives. I used the space to do just that.

    Thank you so much for your video! I’d want to ask if it is alright if I include my challenges or unusual circumstances in other parts of the application, but for the essays I focus on the positive side and how I love learning, my career interest,... which really define who I am today?

    • @AlexAlvaradoB
      @AlexAlvaradoB  Před 2 lety

      You should 100% do that. Talking about your passions, career interests, and the positives is an important part of your essay's. A bit of advice from me would be that you should put a positive spin on anything negative you say.

    Your videos are so helpful. However, I had a question. For the transcripts are we suppose to send all our high school grades from 9-12 or just the recent ones?

    • @AlexAlvaradoB
      @AlexAlvaradoB  Před 2 lety +1

      Good question. You have to send your entire high school transcript!
