- Stretching is the most important part of what I teach.
Your paddling will always suffer if you have poor posture.
Your pop-up will always be slow if your hips and hams are locked.
Your wave count will be cut short if you quit surfing due to injuries.
These stretch tests can determine if you need unlocking and I'll give you the stretches needed to do the unlocking!
If you find that helpful, you're a perfect fit for our full program.
Mobilize your whole body and fill that range of motion with lean, endurance, surf muscles.

Highly underrated channel. I'm following various channels and this one is the only one which really covers topics the others don't even mention.
Props from a landlocked German living in Germany surfing one/twice a year in France at the Atlantic.
You speak the truth!
At 63 years old and spending an entire career behind a computer screen I know too well the pain of not stretching enough along with being injury prone and spending extensive time at the physical therapists.
I've been a lifetime skier and used to be a runner but it's only now when I finally committed myself to surfing (at my tender age 😂) that I totally understand the importance of stretching.
Definitely need to follow your channel, your advice ... and to practice more!
stretching is so underrated. I feel ya once I hit late 20's into my 30's I was getting pec tear, bicep tear, achilles tear, back injuries all left and right from snowboarding. Try to stretch every day in the office now. Gotta stay young and keep rippin. Good videos!!!
great video, couldn’t agree more stretching is the fountain of youth….im 50 and after i spend 10-20 minutes of stretching im a whole new person
thanks for this. I am a longterm surfer and I don't take enough time to stretch, and I have some un-surfing related injuries I often have to manage.
Thank you for this… @55 . This helps with a knee replacement and a broken toe from Fiji. I did pass the test however, you are correct I don’t care how old you are, these need to be done daily if you’re serious about your surfing. When I used to coach, I would always tell my guys with paddling, elbows pointing up and keep eyes level on target. Keeping arms no more than elbow length in the water, and always closest to the rails of the board. (For a shoulder alignment ).You will improve your paddling speed for sure. Great video. Thank you again.
Cool stretches bru. So apt for those key areas of surfing as you stated
Very good topic, great info. You're spot on.
Super helpful!!! Thank you 🤙🏼

56 lower back and left knee are all locked up, pop up sucks so thanks. getting better every day!
4:00 note to self
One of my inspirations is a 66 year old longboarder friend who when he does the toe touches he can put his flat palms on the ground
Have a boat load of gold to mine! Thanks bro!
Me: stretching
Wife: “What arrre you doing?”
😂
ty for you videos ive been stretching now for a few weeks and i can already feel the difference….i feel so much better in the morning when i wake up….like you said ….you know the gold is there now you have to get it to unlock it…..i go to Oahu in 90 days so i have that time to improve my pop ups and flexibility
Love your way of approaching surfing from all sides. Just a question though I am 50 and coming back from severe back and hip injuries. with what you teach can I get back to surfing and the flexibility that I need to enjoy surfing?
I need some bettering
I’m 70 and scrunched but still surfing. Can’t get to my feet
use my 9’-6 as a body board I get tons of waves, but not standing.
Can I strengthen my core if I have abdominal doming?
