  • After years of waiting, Juan Tamariz, one of the greatest minds in magic, is finally prepared to share more treasures from his inner secrets. Although best known for his stack, Mnemonica, Three of Clubs offers new insight into a principle that first appeared on the world’s stage more than one-hundred years ago. What begins as a benign card trick climaxes with a change that will fool the seasoned veteran.
    Today, we are pleased to offer a rare session with El Maestro. If you wish to change your magic for the better, then look no further - Three of Clubs is the addition you need.

      @E ZA the top card which is the 3 is a cut out, the card directly underneath it is a clubs card, if you look at the top left of the top card which is the 3, you can see that it is a spade and not a club, this is how the transition happens, the cutout is very precise but you can still see the outline, its a very nice illusion you probably would never catch if you where there, great magician nonetheless.

    I suspect the 3 of spades has holes instead of 3 black spade symbols. They are big enough holes to show the clubs symbols through them. When card is on deck beneath is 3 of clubs. When he puts the card on the black matt you see black spades and don't notice its holes

    • @GrazerMagic
      @GrazerMagic Před 6 lety +10

      You're right, I think. Just before he makes the 'switch' you can just baaaarely make out an outline of a spade in the card even though it's showing Clubs.
      What a nice trick that is.

    • @adamyounis2983
      @adamyounis2983 Před 6 lety +6

      the funny part is that he didn't change the pips on the card so the middle shows 3 of clubs but not the corners

    • @beginnermagic7180
      @beginnermagic7180 Před 6 lety +6

      Thats not at all the trick.. its a gaff card. Slow it down to 1/4 speed and you will see it change. Its a gaff card that requires the tapping, thats why he is tapping it three times. Then you will see the card slowly start changing before he even sets it down.

      it's a simple alternate universe fade in/fade out trick. in the alternate universe, the 3 of clubs IS the 3 of spades. he has the counterpart in the alternate universe jump in the spot of its counterpart by mixing matter and anti-matter while distracting the audience. it's pretty easy actually when you play around with it for awhile

    It is a card with 3 of spades cut into it. It is above a 3 of clubs and the 3 of clubs comes through the cut out. When it is taken out, it is slid onto a dark mat which makes it seem like a 3 of spades but it is actually a white card with a 3 of spades template cut out.

    • @rodjohnson69
      @rodjohnson69 Před rokem

      @Tim Evanchick yeah, it's a trick card that he 'converts' to spades by tapping the hell out of it. Still a great trick. He then shoves that one into the deck and ultimately pulls out the 'real' 3 of spades for everyone to look at.

    1. The Maestro forces the 3S
    2. One of the 3S has holes in the shape of spades. The Maestro takes the advantage of the "Black" Magic Pad's background to place the card with the holes to show the transformation
    3. He then quickly replaces it with the proper 3S card and then hands it over to prove it's not gimmicked.
    I've read Maestro's books and Dani DaOrtiz and Lennart Green's collections. I'm sorry to say that while I admire The Maestro, his evident action of trying to prove the card isn't gimmicked disappointed me a bit.
