I don’t know the Eric Andre show but this reminds me of a show called Between Two Ferns that came out in 2008. Check it Out also has a similar dryness but so funny.

One of the key features of the show revolves around them trolling their guests (actual famous people).
Some folks know what they are signing up for, but most are thrown off and completely thought it was going to be a genuine late night talk show interview.
