Pretty sure the power at idle wasn't the real issue... it was him touching down at half field.
So weird seeing the airport right next to my house be on here, but I knew it would after seeing that lancair on the road all day

2:27 the Cessna was sideslipping. Look at the turn and bank ball. Crossed controls to increase his decent gradient.

In the last one we can clearly see that side winds were affecting the Cessna at approaching altitude but just some feet above ground situation was normal, good landing.

That was a go-around at the first bounce. Saying the power lever ball came off is a "the dog ate my homework" excuse.

Dude you literally put the video in the middle of the screen so it's impossible to see the end of the last video.
They do that so when you go to hit pause you accidentally click another video. YT do it too and it’s frustrating as hell on mobile.
There are instructions on the internet how to switch that thing off in the end of video! I did it and it works, but i've forgotten what... Somebody asked in some forum and there was the answer. It was something with adblock thing i guess...

On the A 380 , I majored in commercial aviation starting in 1981 , & if you are pilot & do not expect to encounter crosswinds occasionally then you have chosen the wrong career.
Right on, I heard the word crosswind and he did not look like he was crabbing at all which kind of surprised me when I viewed it.

In the first clip, the plane seems to floot over half of the runway; the pilot should have go around instead of trying to stop.

he stated his power was stuck at idle, so he couldn't reverse thrust or increase it to go around

I dont think that C152 was a windy landing. Not tree are blowing,
It looks more like a sideslipe landing practice. The approach is much steeper and flying sideways gives body drag to keep the speed lower while steep.
Remember if you overrun the runway when you should have gone around. Remove the power level and say you were stuck at idle.
Did the first plane let off the throttle? It seems like he barely slowed down...

I've watched a few of these videos. This guy's knowledge of aviation is about on par with his knowledge of English grammar. He often says the craziest things. (I really wish CZcams would get off this there-must-be-narration-in-these-kinds-of-videos kick. The result is horrendous.

Airbags don't really do much. When you are strapped in tightly with two shoulder straps for example, there is no need for airbags really. Airbags in a car are useful because you don't have shoulder straps on both sides and because your head is able to move freely, it is able to hit things causing serious injuries. Normally this isn't the case in aircrafts. That's why race cars also don't use airbags, they do not add to safety in most scenarios
@@yourDecisi0n People die from blunt forces in plane crashes all the time. And you assume all GA pilots use shoulder straps - is that true? I bet it's more that the danger of them going off by turbulence etc and causing a crash.
@@scottstewart5784 While that is true, I believe the effect of an airbag in a plane is still very minimal, if not totally ineffective. The problem is, if a crash is so violent that the pilots hit their head (when strapped in), the chances of survival are already very slim. So, installing airbags just for the slim possibility that it might save one life out of one billion, would not be worth it really. Other than that, I do agree that airbags might also be bad due to them potentially going off during normal usage of the plane

Actually, the car collided with the airplane. Typical Texas driver, oblivious to everything happening around them.
The first car driver was just going on autopilot (pun intended). Looks like they both had no brakes.
Realistically, no driver is going to be looking in a direction from which there cannot ever conceivably be any road traffic approaching them. Namely, directly off to the side into the fields/runways of an airport. There wasn't even a vehicle driveway in that vicinity.

And again i ask myself, are american cars even equipped with a brake? So often that they crash into totally completly avoidable accidents. Its insane.
Those cars were traveling at least 45 MPH if not faster, and the drivers probably were not looking off to their left to see the plane coming. The car that hit the plane looked like he had passed the other car(s) behind him, and probably had to speed up because the idiot being passed didn't like being passed and sped up.
What a ridiculous thing to say. You’re driving down the road and plane suddenly appears in front of you. And they did brake.
