She wrote this after falling on her face and breaking her wrist at her home. She had to have fifty stitches in her face and mouth and did not know if she would be able to sing again. She also suffered three miscarriages during this time. Something good came from this, she and her husband had their second son, Jacobin 2019! She sings it even better live. Thanks for sharing.

Yes, when she sang it live at the awards 1st time after her recovery. I think everyone cried with her, I know I did. The footage of her walking off stage takes your breath away seeing how relieved she was the she nailed it

Here is Carrie singing it live, the first time she came out publicly, after her accidental fall and had horrible injuries to her face and wrist. She was taking her dogs out and tripped on the stone stairs and fell ... basically did a face plant and used her hand to cushion her fall. She showed in a video, the plate that doctors had to put in her wrist. Her husband Mike Fisher, was not home at the time, so she was in bad shape. She was terrified that people would think she was ugly because in her mind and trauma, she thought that she looked horrible (anyone would with that kind of facial injury). She is also a shy person and it took a lot of courage to step back on stage for her to sing that song. Of course, the people supported her and they couldn't find anything wrong with her face, which gave her the courage and confidence that she needed to continue. Actually this was written after she had endured 3 miscarriages and even thru the pain she had to go out and entertain, smile, then suffered a fall and landed on her face, had reconstructive surgery but didn’t know how it would heal so she was frightened, and people slammed her for getting “ plastic” surgery.. like she needs it.. and how she doesn’t even hsve scars.. which she does it goes from her inner nose to her chin.. she wears coverup for shows..

I actually went to her blown away tour. It was amazing!! we were 2 rows away from her and she detached her stage from the original stage and flew across the audience because she wanted to get. Close with everyone, she said. she is an amazing person on top of an amazing artist
