@@doitallgaragetx Hey I've heard people say some of those winches failed, but the comments section said it's because the Badlands mounting plates are weak. Your take please?
@cecilb3216 I pulled a 67 Ford pick up truck up on my trailer like it was a go-kart. The winch mount I got from harbor freight wasn't weak at all. Thing had to weigh 25lbs or more. Very thick steel. I'd buy again.
@@doitallgaragetx I believe it was the first obstacle that you came to where if you set it on a flat surface it wouldn't line up. Slot two holes it will line up and you can slide your bolts through
I like that knife.
Badlands winch is hard to beat for the price that is for sure
Putting some braces on the back of the winch plate to the front top bar would also help strengthen the winch mount
Welding outside with mig sometimes sucks if it's breezy because the Gas isn't helping the weld much when the wind blowing the gas away but nice work
Not alot of wind that day, I got lucky!
Damn I admire your dedication. When I have to much stuff in the say like you have I just don’t do it. It’s to much of a PIA 😢
I do that alot, too!
That's a good winch. I saw a guy pull out a small bulldozer stuck in a muddy road rut he was cutting.
I hope so! I missed a sale by 5 mins (hf closes at 6pm on sundays). They were on sale this past wknd for $299. I paid $379.....🥺
@@doitallgaragetx yeah it was the same winch. Very impressive.
@azrick6458 glad to hear. I know stuff from harbor freight can be "iffy"...
You could have added a 2"x 8" spacer board between the mount plate and trailer deck and longer bolts .
True. But that would've weakened the mount. I also didn't want it on the deck once I really thought about it.
Been awhile glad the pressure washing business going well brother
Just had my mounting plate welded flat to the trailer and tried to install the fairlead...
Ouch!

@@richard6897 I'd thought about doing that, but didn't want the winch on the trailer bed.
@@doitallgaragetx I would like to put a jib crane on my trailer I used to winch for pulling and lift-loading
@@doitallgaragetx I've sent thousands of pounds up cell phone towers had no slotted holes come in handy but so do washers and lock washers
