    Good video showing the ups and downs of installing a mesh network, when you are impatient with the TP-App when you can instead wait for the configuration to finish.

    I've had the S4 for about 6 months and I had no problems setting it up. The only thing I can think was going wrong with your experience, is either the existing wifi was interfering, or you were plugging the additional Deco's in too early. I hope you got it sorted.
    I have my main Deco plugged into the fibre modem, with one of the satellites fed with cat6 plugged into the second rj45 on the main Deco. I've also added a cheap eBay M4R to make 4 Deco's, and I get full speed everywhere in my house, and on average I have about 25 permanently connected devices. I used to have a multi access point system and that was a complete pain. Only problem I've found reported, is it seems to only use channel 36 on the 5ghz, so if you have a lot of other networks near you, it could be a problem because you can't manually change it. I don't have any other wifi near me so I haven't had problems. Great product, highly recommended and excellent value.

      In a sense yes. You should daisy chain them, so modem > tp1 > tp2 > tp3 then you set it in the app as access point. Hereafter you disable your modems WiFi radios. So your tp links acts as remote antennas . Or you can use them as separate routers. Though this gives many issues imo.

    • @981porsche3
      @981porsche3 Před rokem +4

      All 3 act as one network, so by spreading them out in your home, it WILL effectively increase the coverage of your network.

    Hi, I have question. After you successfully connect all 3, do you unplug and move the 2 that you were going to put in diff room and it will connect to the main #1 deco? What if the 2 is too far from the main deco?

It sounds like port forwarding is something that will transfer all your existing WiFi items to the new router, is that so or will I have to go through all of the WiFi items and reconnect to the new router?? Help is needed here… And thanks in advance..

That E4 device has ethernet port with 100Mbps max speed (and you'll never get max for sure) and because of that, whole mesh system is limited and it's not recomended if you have fiber optics with speed around or greater than 500 mbps....
