    On my T77 radios, I found I could power it with the USB cable, without batteries in it. A separate battery bank, or USB power from car or home plug will give you operational power for the radio longer than the battery packs will give you. I like this flexibility on these radios.

    Thanks for the follow up brother! I too have a set of these. I used them when moving from CA to TX. My dad was driving my second vehicle while I was in the moving truck. It took us 3 days. Had to change the batteries once in the trip. Worked flawlessly. I'm glad you had a similar experience. Another great information video T!

    I have the T75VP3 camo Xtalkers, and really like em. We use em for off roading, hunting & fishing trips. I use rechargeable batteries and charger I got from Amazon, and keep spare set of Duracells for backup. I still run a cb for highway travel.

    All the more reason to have a cb, just a cheap basic cb in a mobile setting, but I am a hobbyist, but over the past 32 years I’ve learned that each communication device, cb, frs, and gmrs really is crucial in different situations, I’m a firm believer in keeping a cb and frs on hand in vehicles, got a gmrs as well but most people don’t want to spend the money or hassle on the fcc site for the license. By the way, you sold me on these radios , great job 👍🏼

    The battery pack states 3.6V and 700mAh. Would a 5.0V and 2A cellphone USB charger set these battery on fire? What are the specs of the charger you use to charge the rechargable batteries that come with the radios? Thank you for the review and very informative video.

    • @travisp11
      @travisp11  Před rokem +1

      @@il_Presepe You are correct about the voltage and mAh rating of the battery pack and the instruction manual doesn't say anything about any kind of limit for volts or miliamps of your power source. I would imagine that the charging dock has adequate components to regulate the current. If you are truly afraid about a fire just go onto Amazon and buy a 3.6v 700 mAh wall charger and you should be safe.

    • @il_Presepe
      @il_Presepe Před rokem +1

      @@travisp11 Thank you for getting back to me and for the information. That is true that perhaps the charging station might regulate the voltage although I have not seen and label or specs on it that states voltage or mAh. Since the manual suggests that the radios can be charged individually without the charging dock then everyone should be aware of a potential damage or worse by using a regular Samsung or apple charger to charge the 3.6v batteries. I'll switch to alkaline or NiMH which I can charge in the appropriate charger. I greatly appreciate your response and for helping with my question. Thanks again for the great video and info about the radios which are awesome by the way.
