    Very well done comparison. Also, great video quality and radio voice lol. I am a current Sunline Sniper guy and your results confirm that I am using a high quality line...not just hype and buzz. Thanks for sharing all your hard work and attention to detail in performing the tests and in displaying the results. 👍

    I have been using Yo-zuri T-7 the last two years and have enjoyed it. Good to see why I like it so much. Good video!

    Great video! Glad to see I made the right call in purchasing some T7 line! I am using 6lb test so hopefully these results are similar as you go down in line diameter.

    Very interesting and thorough. I was a 15 year p-line user. Something changed and I have been auditioning lines over the past 2 years. I tried a spool of topknot last year and liked it. So much hype around the Sunline I was going to give it a try. I saw another test that also ranked the T-7 very high. I bought a spool.
    Once the ice is gone will spool it up. Very relieved to see your results.
    Thank you!!

      @@Aquavateinnovations Sorry to say the T-7 is a complete failure. I fish a lot of heavy cover and had a few instances where a hung bait broke off with very little pressure. I have recently changed over to the double pintzen knot. Thought that may be the problem so went back to my tried and true palomar. Had 3 fish break off in cover. Not from a sawing action, but from the initial pull after the hookset. ALL 3 had a curly at the end, telling me the knot pulled out.
      Last night was the final straw. It was windy and I was pitching spinnerbaits into overhanging trees for smallies. As you can imagine a few miscasts and hung lures. First couple times I shook and pulled as I usually do and with little pressure the line snapped at the lure. The very final straw was when hung under water, using the 'bow & arrow' to attempt to release the bait, twice the line snapped at the levelwind. No backlash, no kinks or frays. The 'shock' of the release of the line caused it to break for no reason. This was 2 breaks on 2 attempts. There is definitely a flaw in the design of this line. I was using the 16 lb.
      Thanks for giving me a forum to vent...very disappointing

    Love 14lb FC SNIPER SUN LINE as a leader tied up to 20 lb braid.
    12 lb seaguar invizex is a close 2nd for sure!

  • @mobasser
    @mobasser Před 7 měsíci +1

    Awesome job, but T7 should have got 4 place on wet strength due to two lines tying for first I assume so there is no second place, which still made it win!!!!

    Best depends on what you want. I run braid and prefer some stretch so my braid doesn’t snap I run Pline for a lead ❤

    Should have went with the Pline Japanese tactical fluorocarbon (black and white cover) instead, I hear that one is way stronger.

    Thanks for the video. I am going to buy my first fluoro mainline having only used braid with fluoro leaders. Was going to get the invizx but this helped me make up my mind. Yo Zuri T7 it is! Almost half the price too (In South Africa)

    So why does wetting the knot help not fray the line when cinching a knot if abrasion resistance is worse when wet?

    Seaguar is junk. It kinks and retains a shit ton of memory. It is almost impossible to cast properly. I would only suggest using it for leaders.

    • @JohnDoe-bp6xe
      @JohnDoe-bp6xe Před 29 dny +2

      I second this. It is terrible to fish smallmouth with. Their teeth abrasion instantly deteriorates the line. I have had so many one pounders break off with 8lb seagar flouro.

    • @catchofthedave8681
      @catchofthedave8681 Před 6 dny +1

      I also agree. I have had nothing but issues with seaguar. I use mostly samurai fluoro cuz i can get bulk spools at a discounted price, and i typically have been using the cheaper sunline on my cranking rods….. the assassin cuz i know it stretches a lil more than higher end stuff. Neither break hardly ever, the 12lb sunline on my cranking rods is hard to break off even when im trying to break off.
      Earlier this year i had to buy a spool of line on the road (i didnt have my line box with me) for cranking rod cuz line on it was stretched and kinky and beat up from hard cranking use. Someone told me to use seaguar invisx bcuz of the stretch for cranking. I shoulda known better cuz i have a bulk spool of red label i bought years back that i hated, its about as supple as metal wire. I never used more than 1 or 2 times cuz it feels like metal leader wire youd use for a shark or toothy fish, its trash.
      but the invisx was supposed to be better. Worst mistake ive ever made. Not only is it not nearly as supple as the sunline or daiwa, but i also broke off more than once with it…..one time on about a 4lb 20 inch surprise smallie that probably would have had me in the money in a kayak tourney….well not probably, almost certainly. Weird thing was, i fought this smallie for a hot lil minute, then i go to net him and he surges a little, not even hard compared to what he was doing, and line snaps. Look at line and its like a clean pop…no frays, nothing. It had already broken off 1 or 2 other times and i mean i was so anxious that it was gonna break I was OCD about line checking and re-tying…..and it still broke. Shit sucks. Never again seaguar, find some other suckers, not me.

      My professional option based on testing data…… Maybe. Haha, I see that it depends on how much you value price v overall performance.
      With a budget mindset, I would choose a monofilament line if you can handle a heavier lbs.
