- 360 years of Trooping the Colour - Queen Elizabeth II's Birthday Parade 2011
The entire parade of 1,000 soldiers and 400 musicians marches up the Mall towards Buckingham Palace. The Markers then march off the grounds carrying the regimental company colours on the marker flags.
The King's Troop and the HAC, now in place, get ready for commence firing their respective gun salutes during the Royal Family's arrival at the palace. At the same time, the Old and New Queen's Guards, now doing the Changing of the Guard ceremony in the palace grounds also prepare for the Royal carriages' arrival and to salute the Queen on her carriage when she arrives.
On return to Buckingham Palace, the Queen watches a further march past from outside the gates. Following a 41-gun salute by the King's Troop in Green Park, she leads the Royal Family onto the palace balcony for a Royal Air Force flypast.
I'm an American and I have to admit that when it comes to putting on a show, NO ONE ANYWHERE can beat the Brits! Gotta love them. There are times when I wish I were British and living in England.
I loved the pageantry ; the precision marching ; the music; and the respect shown to a truly great lady. But her fortitude in sitting through all of this at her age and all of her past devotion to her nation is indicative of just how magnificent this Lady is. God Save The Queen!
Capt Crunch is properly clever and a true genius
As an American, I’m a thoroughly impressed.
I love how the pipes and drums are at the back, so the Royals can hear the best possible blended sound.
How animated and Happy the Queen looked. Who could possibly have foreseen the trouble and great sadness she would face in 2020 and 2021. God Bless Queen Elizabeth and her family. She is truly remarkable.
I think the queen has got a soft spot for the Scots Pipers she had a rather lovely smile while Black Bear was playing
Katerina Kempb
Yes ur right very good eye. It is a fact that the Queen does like pipes a lot and Her Majesty wakes up to the sound of a bagpipe every morning.
I agree with the Queen, I do like the Scots Guard Pipers as well as Black Watch pipers too.
Good Piper's
Wow! Look how young they look. All of them. Beautiful!
....ahhhh P.Harry not knowing what the future held for him.
One is overwhelmed by the passionate love affair between the Crown, the military, and the people. May that passion burn hot forever.
Nothing more British than the Red Arrows flying over Buckingham Palace.
@Phil Fryer Nothing more American than the Blue Angels flying in ridiculous ways spraying Red White And Blue all over the place!
What an awesome parade ..
I wish we have a parade like that in our country ( Philippines )
Greetings from Pasig City, Philippines
OUT-Standing ! !
History at it's FINEST ! !
At 01:37! I just CAN'T GET ENOUGH of THIS TUNE! Especially when it's played in the presence of Her Majesty! The band takes special care to "Put some SOUL into the tune!
God Save the Queen.
Jose Nino Garcia Well said
thank you for uploading this wonderful event on youtube.
She is the Queen of the United Kingdom of Great Britain, she's not just the "English" Queen.
truefalse and Australia and Canada and New Zealand and the Falkland islands
@@alundavies8402 You're both wrong. There are 16 different regnal titles for the queen, one for each of the Commonwealth realms. Which title one uses depends on which part of the Commonwealth it is actually being written and/or spoken in, even if the person using it isn't from that realm.
In The United Kingdom the formal title is: "Her Majesty, Elizabeth the Second, by the Grace of God of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and of Her other Realms and Territories, Queen, Head of the Commonwealth, Defender of the Faith."
In *Antigua:* "Her Majesty Elizabeth the Second, by the Grace of God, Queen of Antigua and Barbuda and of Her other Realms and Territories, Head of the Commonwealth."
In *The Bahamas:* "Her Majesty Elizabeth the Second, by the Grace of God, Queen of the Commonwealth of The Bahamas and of Her other Realms and Territories, Head of the Commonwealth."
In *Barbados:* "Her Majesty Elizabeth the Second, by the Grace of God, Queen of Barbados and of Her other Realms and Territories, Head of the Commonwealth."
In *Belize:* "Her Majesty Elizabeth The Second, by the Grace of God, Queen of Belize and of Her Other Realms and Territories, Head of the Commonwealth."
In *Canada* (in English): "Her Majesty Elizabeth the Second, by the Grace of God of the United Kingdom, Canada and Her other Realms and Territories Queen, Head of the Commonwealth, Defender of the Faith." (in French): "Sa Majesté Elizabeth Deux, par la grâce de Dieu Reine du Royaume-Uni, du Canada et de ses autres royaumes et territoires, Chef du Commonwealth, Défenseur de la Foi."
In *Grenada:* "Her Majesty Elizabeth the Second, by the Grace of God, Queen of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and of Grenada and Her other Realms and Territories, Head of the Commonwealth."
In *Jamaica:* "Her Majesty Elizabeth the Second, by the Grace of God, Queen of Jamaica and of Her other Realms and Territories, Head of the Commonwealth."
In *Saint Kitts and Nevis:* "Her Majesty Elizabeth the Second, by the Grace of God, Queen of Saint Christopher and Nevis and of Her other Realms and Territories, Head of the Commonwealth."
In *Saint Lucia:* "Her Majesty Elizabeth the Second, by the Grace of God, Queen of Saint Lucia and of Her other Realms and Territories, Head of the Commonwealth."
In *Saint Vincent and the Grenadines:* "Her Majesty Elizabeth the Second, by the Grace of God, Queen of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines and of Her other Realms and Territories, Head of the Commonwealth."
In *Australia:* "Her Majesty Elizabeth the Second, by the Grace of God Queen of Australia and Her other Realms and Territories, Head of the Commonwealth."
In *New Zealand:* "Her Majesty Elizabeth the Second, by the Grace of God Queen of New Zealand and Her Other Realms and Territories, Head of the Commonwealth, Defender of the Faith."
In *Papua New Guinea:* "Her Majesty Elizabeth the Second, by the Grace of God Queen of Papua New Guinea and of Her other Realms and Territories, Head of the Commonwealth."
In the *Solomon Islands:* "Queen of Solomon Islands and of Her other Realms and Territories, Head of the Commonwealth."
In *Tuvalu:* "Her Majesty Elizabeth the Second, by the Grace of God, Queen of Tuvalu and of Her other Realms and Territories, Head of the Commonwealth."
She used to have regnal titles for Ghana, Nigeria, Sierra Leone, Tenganyika, Uganda, Kenya, Malawi, Mauritua, South Africa, Gambia, Trinidad and Tobago, Guyana, Pakistan, Cylon, Malta, and Fiji but those are all defunct. Note also that in all British Overseas Territories the proper regal title is the UK title.
If you really want to use the full, long, rarely used title then technically you could add: Duchess of Normandy (for her Crow Dependencies of Guernssy, and Jersey), Lord of Mann (for the Isle Of Mann), Duchess of Lancaster (but *only* rarely when in the historic county boundaries of Lancashire or while attending a formal event of Lancastrian regiments of the armed forces, except at her funeral). Plus you can add: Commander-in-Chief of the Canadian Armed Forces, Commander-in-Chief of the British Armed Forces, and then all the various honorary military ranks and positions, and all appointments, orders, decorations and fellowship.. it's a very long list. Basically, if it's a high honor you can get in the UK then she either has it or she refused.
Between 1946 and 1951 she was offered five honorary university degrees; two Bachelor of Music (BMus), two Doctor of Laws (LLD) and a Doctor of Civil Law (DCL). Two were from University of London, and one each from University of Oxford, University of Wales
, and University of Edinburgh. However, she had to decline all of them becasue accepting would technically place her under the jurisdiction of the chancellor of whichever university had bestowed the degree, a position deemed unsuitable for a reigning monarch. So, even though those honors were offered she never actually received them so you can't add them to her list of honors.
Note that in the Solomon Islands she is *not* refereed to as "Her Majesty" in official documents, only when greeting her in person. Also, theoretically as Queen of New Zealand she is the head of the New Zealand Armed Forces but she doesn't hold any actual title or rank with that force, the Commander-In-Chief of the New Zealand Armed Forces is actually the Governor General of New Zealand.
She is not actually Queen of England. England's last queen was Queen Anne until the Act of Union 1st of May 1707 when her title became Queen of Great Britain.
Long Live the Queen! - from Canongate Kirk, Scotland :)
Wilbur Wafer or they’re proud of the achievements our 4 nations have done. Scotland would be a regional power at best independent
Wilbur Wafer becoming the most powerful nation in the world for over 200 years, leading the way in civil rights, spreading Scottish and British culture over the globe, basically putting Scotland on the map
Wilbur Wafer well maybe you’re so obsessed with independence you can’t see the other side of the coin, you see us unionists as traitors are you forgetting the saltire is in the union flag?
this was the best day for me and my second trooping the colour
"Waaahhhh waaaahhhh I wanna republic waahhhh!"
Who could see that and even consider a republic?
A stunning spectacle - there is nothing to remotely compare to it. The Queen and Duke are wonderful and still look terrific, especially smiling on the balcony. Everyone performed magnificently, including the horses, and the commentary was just right - informative but not intrusive. Most of the troopers looked so young.
Absolutely beyond impressive. I don't know when I have enjoyed a military review as much as I have enjoyed this one. James D. Morgan TSgt USAF Retired
that's so awesome! :) cant wait for the trooping the colour 2012!
Love it when they play Scotland the brave/black bear. Thanks for posting this
What a wonderful lady Her Majesty is, long may she live and reign
That is amazing!
Spectacular!

Our Kingdom will celebrate HM Queen Elizabeth II's Diamond Jubilee (60th anniversary) next year. First Battalion Coldstream Guards will provide the Escort to the Colour in 2012.
Queen Victoria is thus far the only monarch in the histories of Britain,Australia,Canada,New Zealand and other Commonwealth Realms to have celebrated a Diamond Jubilee.
Hip Hip Hurray!
There's no country in the world that has this many great traditions, thank's to the present
monarch, these traditions won't vanish tomorrow. But the newly added consorts on the
balcony should immediately put on a history course by her majesty.
i hope we have something like this in my country... it's awesome
And also at 08:48 listen to the crowd when the lovely couple comes out.
Best and louder than to anyone else ;)
beautiful! Greetings from Japan :)
That will be all over the news! It'll be on the BBC iplayer, CZcams etc etc etc. It's going to be great and I can't wait for the parties and the Queen's trip down the Thames!!!!
God Save the Queen
So can I stand on the sides by the Vic memorial and get a front view of the balcony?

The queen looks so happy!!!! :)
Une cérémonie "qui porte" et pour cette vieille dame de 84 ans... Chapeau! God save the Queen!

She was eating sweets
I may be attending trooping the colour at the Royal Military College - Duntroon here in Australia next month :) we can't do it like you Brits do, but still, it's as close as I may one day get.
Saturday 16th June 2012. You can probably watch it on the BBC World Service if you wanted to. If not it'll be on the BBC iplayer (I don't know whether you can get it in the US, or where ever you are.) Hope this helps :)
William and Kate look lovely together
Please, what is the name of the closing song/military march?
Wondering where this pageantry will be when...(Don’t want to say it)
The Duke of Edinburgh had just been appointed Lord High Admiral of the United Kingdom the day before this.
And we want you back!
I've never been to the land of my forefathers. I'd love to see the Diamond Jubilee!

Too right mate, I wish I lived in the UK.
now thats what i call parade!
Who is he (Harry) saluting? Is it monuments or does he know when certain units will be in certain places?
Good on you for pointing out that the UK and England are not one and the same. So many people - especially from USA - can't or won't' try and grasp a pretty simple fact!
@ 2:19 did Her Majesty just pick a booger?! Love it!
Who composed the "Buckingham Royal March"? Thanks...it is a great march.
11:44 This makes me proud!
From an American brother, quite a sight!
Look at William at 12:49
He puts his hand on Kate's waist.
He is protecting her
11:40 to 12:20 Makes me proud to be British!
I hope that the recent 2012 Diamond jubilee trooping of colours will be posed here in youtube sooner
Thats ok, I don't know whether it will be on the BBC World Service but I would imagine it will be... if not you can guarentee that it'll be on youtube within the hour.
고맙습니다.
The daugher of Edward resembles the Queen when she was a little girl....very similar look.
God BLESS them all....
8:29 EPIC !!!!
what is the name of the first bagpipesong
@nauort23
Of course, there are some people who have little value of tradition, nor of their national heritage. I look at this and see a beautiful parade and military spectacle which has been happening for centuries, celebrating this country and its head of state. others look at it and see something whcih they will never have themselves, and must therefore be removed. If the second statement is not the case, may i ask exactly what makes you pray for a republic when you see this?
God Save the Queen.
Long Live the Queen.
Rule Britannia.
Si vis pacem para bellum.
Dieu et mon driot.
HRH the Duke of Edinburgh.
lost two guys i trained with at Tumbledown
muhteşem
Ja ich habe habe ich auch gesagt
@nauort23 The cost is to the Exchequer, which gets money not only from the taxpayer, but also from the Crown Estate, which pays far more into the national coffers than the Monarchy costs altogether. May iI ask what the difference between this and a ceremonial tradition is? This is ceremonial, is going long enough to be called a tradition and in my books can therefore be called ceremonial tradition.
HRH Prince Edward is wearing "military drag" in his role as Royal Colonel of the London Regiment.
Wonder why We Americans don't do such an event like this on a President's Birthday.
그냥 하늘도 좋아하고 시민도 좋아하고. 땅도 반기지요. 참 다행입니다.
Too bad Hong Kong returned!Hong Kongers now want the British back!!!
