I really don't think that was intentional (as a Gordon fan). I think they were just racing. Jeff lost it after putting up with so much frustration that year. Jeff was on the wrong.
Yeah He had run into gordon several times that year, and that Phoenix tire cut was the last straw, it wasn't intentional but it just didn't matter anymore at that point.

Actually, I was already thinking of this situation when Clint was joined on NASCAR on Fox. Thinkin' about will they share their side on what happen in 2012 Chase in Phoenix. It is just too hilarious to recall this moments. That season is memorable for me because of their rivalries and they explain their side in a wittiest way making myself in full of grin 😂😂😂

this doesn't suffice for me cuz it's still kind of a joke. We'll never really know what was said and how things were worked out. Wish I was a fly on the wall to hear that conversation.
So there were two things that helped them "tide it over"
The first was when they both celebrated new years on a yacht. Jeff saw Clint and said he thought Clint was going to punch him. Instead Clint was the bigger man and said let's get drunk and have fun.
The second was when Jeff when sand due bugging in like Vegas with Clint and that really allowed them to burry the hatchet. Sand dune bugging also helped Rusty and Jeff burry the hatchet. There are other interviews on this on CZcams.

I'm a huge Gordon fan but realistically, he was never going to win that Martinsville race. Him and Johnson were the only cars that stayed out on old tires, while everyone else pitted for fresh rubber. The contact with Bowyer certainly didn't help any, but he was a sitting duck either way.

It was a worse deal for Clint at the time, but its effected Gordon in the long haul. Gordon's career was nearly impeccable to this point.

Clint Bowyer has been very good in the booth thus far. He and Jeff Gordon make a good duo, though they have talked about the "incident" so much, you get the feeling they both still have bitterness about it.

Should talk about Clint's attempt at revenge the following year when he intentionally spun and pitted to try and help Logano get in and keep Gordon out of the chase.
The spin and all the proceeded was to help Truex get it, you know his teammate at the time. It wasn’t to help Logano or hurt Gordon.
@@smalls3187 my mistake, I had confused the investigation into radio communications between Penske and Front Row with the MWR catastrophe...which is what resulted in Gordon being added to the chase... Oops. Crazy that both happened in the same race though lol
