Well that was a fun ride! You may have to go watch The Wizard of Oz with Judy Garland to truly appreciate how Todrick & PTX retold the story with modern music! I cant get over how well they picked the songs! The transition from Scott to Mitch with the âdo youâ was brilliant! Notice too Scott, the scarecrow wanted a brain so his song said âIâm thinking aboutâ and Mitch, the tinman wanted a heart, so his words âmy heart is damagedâ Then Kirstin sings âyouâre lying on the cold hard groundâ to Avi who is aâlion on the groundâ ....who needed courage, just so so so well played! You are the first reactor to comment on that particular word play!! Then they came full circle with that theme in the selection of âhomeâ songs at the end!! Kirstin dreamt of being on Broadway (which she has done now) so she was spectacular! A full production! Is there anything PTX canât do? Nope.

Well said. Plus, when Scott, Avi and Mitch sing Lollipop, they are paying tribute to the Lollipop kids when Dorothy gets to the land of Oz. Todrik Hall plays the Wizard of Oz at the Emerald City and has all the power in Oz.

THAT.WAS.INCREDIBLE. Iâve never seen this or heard of it before. I love the Wizard of Oz! I tried to keep track of all the songs but some I didnât know. I got: Blown Away by Carrie underwood, wide awake by Katy Perry, lollipop by the chordettes, Cups (?) by Anna Kendrick, canât be tamed by Miley Cyrus, I knew you were trouble by Taylor Swift, Teeth by Lady Gaga, Home Sweet Home by Motley Crue, Home by Daughtry, Home by Phillip Phillips, Home by Michael BublĂ©. Todrick Hall was on American Idol & he has done some Broadway, but thatâs all I know about him. Great video!

He has a bunch of neat medleys, mashups, parodies, his own original material including a couple of visual albums that play out almost as movies... One, Straight Outta Oz, is kinda his life story/themes of his life mixed with themes of the Wizard of Oz. The other, Forbidden, is kinda about an alternative universe America where black homosexuals are the majority and a man dares to have a heterosexual affair (I think set in a 1950s era, but not exactly).
He writes, directs, sings, raps, choreographs... Like everything... If you're into the gay scene you'll probably love everything, but if not then there's still enough variety that you'll probably find plenty other things to enjoy... He's not perfect by any means, but he's clearly got talent.

Todrick Hall went to high school with Kirsty, Scott and Mitch, I believe. But Todrick has many amazing videos as well. Heâs a genius when it comes to creativity!

Well, he's the 2nd reactor on this that seemed confused by the whole progression, which I found really irritating in the other guy's video but at least our boy here was visibly loving what he was hearing, so it was ok.
Maybe it's because I'm old, but it astonishes me to find people who don't understand the storyline of the Wizard of Oz (Book or Movie, either one.) Incidentally, if you think about it, the Wizard is a seriously bad guy - he sent a 12-year-old girl off to what he probably believed would be certain death at the hands of the Wicked Witch. This fact is totally ignored by pretty much everybody who watches/reads it.
Todrick grew up with Mitch, Kirsten, and Scott in Arlington, Texas, though he was older. He was on American Idol, though he didn't win.
The Cup Song was made popular by Anna Kendrick, but it's an ooold country song by the Carter Family, called "When I'm Gone".
You may not have heard of Todrick but Hollywood and the entertainment world sure has. Todrick and Taylor Swift were co-producers for Taylor's "You Need To Calm Down" video. Todrick also produced and sat with Taylor at the VMAs. He also produced part of Gwen Stefani's Christmas Special. He also writes music and has a touring show, which of course he writes, choreographs, and stars in. The dude is extremely talented.

What a fun video to react to. You are right, they mashed up like 17 contemporary modern songs throughout this video. That R&B like song that Scott as the Scarecrow was singing was "Thinking Bout You" by Frank Ocean. Thanks for the great reaction. This was such a genius way of telling the Wizard of Oz in a modern way. They are just so talented. Todrick Hall went to the same HS as Scott, Mitch and Kirstin (but graduated before them) if I recall correctly. He is a hoot and so creative. He has a lot of great stuff to react to on his channel. Todrick is super talented and makes a lot of great videos.
He does a bunch of mashups, medleys and parodies, but also does his own original stuff.
He raps, sings, choreographs and dances, writes, acts... Like everything... Looks pretty good in a dress too lol.
If you're put off by gay scene stuff or drag, some things may put you off a bit in some of his stuff, but otherwise it's a great time for the most part... A lot of it is silly fun, but there's some super hard-hitting emotional stuff too.
Specifically PTX stuff, he has a song from the deluxe version of his "Straight Outta Oz" visual album, called "Black and White", which features Kirsty, Scott and Mitch from PTX. There's also a PTX parody called "Pentatodrix"... On the Superfuit channel, Scott and Mitch reacted to it, which is fun.

I think you would really enjoy Voice Play and Home Free. Both are other a capella groups with crazy bass singers and beatboxers
Each song has to do with what that character needed -- Scott/Scarecrow - thinking (no brain) Mitch/Tin man (broken heart), Lion/Avi (shaking lying on the ground). LOL - and in the final mashup of songs, they all have their missing things -- tin man has his heart, scarecrow has his diploma, lion has his bravery medal.
They were singing Lollipop because they were the Lollipop kids in the Wizard Of Oz.

I read through quite a few comments. I'm so glad So many people know about todrick hall because he is insanely talented. Once again insanely talented. There is a behind the scenes of video for the wizard of Ahhs. The dog in the Video playing toto is really Todricks' dog toto. Please check out low by todrick featuring rupaul. He did everything. Todrick really really likes the wizard of Oz Because he has a video called straight outta oz but it's over an hour long. Todrick has a whole series of videos titled "4 of..." Which is Him On for Different sections of the frame each singing And doing different things. It is brilliant. His "4 Beyonce was the 1st time I saw something by todrick hall And I fell in love with him. There is also a video Called "Kristin maldonado somewhere over the rainbo." And let's give props to Kristin for playing 3 roles and being a very good actress. She really was born to be Dorothy. And I really liked How at the end of the video when they're all standing on the stage scenes from the Original wizard of Oz are being projected

You gotta have basic knowledge of the original Wizard of Oz movie to understand all the references in this video, and how they retold the story of the movie using more modern music. This video was a true star-making vehicle for Kirstie, who absolutely killed in this.

Todrick went to high school with Scott, Mitch and Kirstie but a couple of years apart. Todrick was also on American Idol and made top 20 or 15 I think. Todrick has a lot of great stuff to react to also. He does a lot of drag style stuff.
All of it was great. Yes it was a medley with all you named and more but that's what Todrick does! Check him out just for yourself. Not all for small children.đ

I know right? Especially that last scene where you can clearly see everyone except Kevin, like really? They literally blocked him with Todrick, I got nothing against Todrick. But youâd think the cameraman would have pointed it out and tried to get him in the frame. Then when they pan across all the membersâ faces they just show Kevinâs mouth then you can just see his one arm in the ending frameđ€
Technically, imho, Kevin should be next to Kirstin because Toto is going home with her. I'm not keen on Kevin being Toto in the first place but he seemed fine with it. (He talks about it in the behind the scenes video.)

I know you've watched a lot of Taylor Swift stuff. Have you seen the you need to calm down video? Toddrick co executive produced it and they won either one or two Grammy's for it. Fun fact: Everyone in that video is popular in the lgbtq+ comminity.Taylor said she would not perform at the Grammy's unless everyone in the video got their own Grammy.

That video and the song are amazing. It's an anthem! She fights hard for her friends and wanted them to all get the recognition they deserve. She was able to get them each a Grammy and I think that says a lot about her character. She is a wonderful human being in my eyes.

I donât know all of the songs either except the ending medley had a few songs from their recent Home video. How would you even explain it to anyone without giving it away. My highest recommendation is to have previously seen the Wizard of Oz. There are a few reactions where they had no clue what was happening. Duuuuuuude... Try âLowâ by Todrick Hall ft. RuPaul. These songs and others are from his âStraight Outta Ozâ album and tour. âLowâ is (trying not to oversell it) freaking spectacular. Makes this look like it was a middle school student project. And I agree with Dan below that you should check out Todrickâs âBlack and Whiteâ featuring Mitch, Scott and Kirsten. Itâs really good and also better than this one. đ
You definitely need to listen to K/DA- More MV. The music is legendary, sort of Kpop but more trap and lots of rap ;) and the music video.. The animation is out of this world.

Kirstin and Mitch dated for a while too, as did Mitch and Scott. Personally, I can't imagine working with two of my ex-boyfriends who were also dating each other but they make it work.

We should have warned you, while you are going down the Pentatonix rabbit hole, there is a few divergent tunnels and you just turned into the Todrick hall side tunnel. His music is Definately worth a listen too. Especially is Straight Outta Oz album, it kind of tells his story/struggle to become a singer. I believe that Toddy was a friend of Mitch/Kirsty/Scott in school.
