    You and Chie are hands down the best that's happened to woodworking on youtube lately. Just you working on your shop making incredibly beautiful pieces over some nice music and everything being exceptionally filmed. Seriously, hats off to both of you.

    Usually, stowable furniture has a cheap, Ikea-like look. This totally blow that notion out of the water. Beautiful!

    It always kills me how languid this dude is in everything he does. Moves so slow and deliberate; never rushes. I'm in a blind panic half the time I'm building anything.

    I'm doing something wrong! I work at 100mph for hours each day to fulfil my orders. I barely get time to eat. I've got sawdust all over the shop and in every orifice you can think of - yet here's Ishitani producing exquisite stunning pieces at turtle pace; as calm and relaxed as can be. I don't see any impatient couriers lined up at his workshop waiting to load their vans. I've never seen him take any 'when are you coming home' phone calls from the wife or mix up a pot noodle with one hand while staining with another? Damn! I need to get my act together!

      i'm a bit new to woodworking and i love his works but , isn't that a bad idea to glue them up to the top end grain? (due to wood movement)

    • @KevBossche
      @KevBossche Před 7 lety +1

      Matt Yach I think he only glued the end piece, and not the panel? This is fixated by its thightness?

    • @tooljunkie555
      @tooljunkie555 Před 7 lety +4

      Matt Yach all depends on where he puts the glue. if it was me id use very little on the ends cuz its a very tight nit joint as u seen him hammering it on.. I have never done a sliding dovetail breadboard end so I really don't know but traditional breadboard ends you only put glue on the middle tenens to allow wood movement but if I ever give it a try I'll let you know how it goes :-)

    Love the sliding dovetail breadboard ends. I have only used the European traditional style and I think this would be far more durable. But, my tables have much thinner tops so I don't think this would scale down for the tables I have made up until now.
