Custom sculpts always have a bit of finesse it seems, not rushed by a specific day and made with actual attention to every detail and care for the final result. Definitely a whole new figure with this upgraded head👌

That headsculpt is such an improvement. There was something about the original that looked.... off, like it was half baked of something. This new head makes him look like a guy who has the power of the sun in the palm of his hand.
I just purchased this figure, and i really like the original head sculpt. I compared it to a picture of him grinning from the movie, and it is relatively accurate. Also, I did confirm that the turtle neck sweater was a dark gray (not black). But for a neutral head sculpt, this is good
That Head is PHENOMENAL! My one issue is the hair, idk what about it I don’t like, but I actually prefer the hair on the Hot Toys head. Either way, that new head is 100x better! I think the eyes were a bit too high on the HT head. Just my thoughts
I think this headsculpt solidifies the biggest gripe I had with the hot toys one, and that is of Alfred Molina as Doc Ock smiling, not only it ruined the likeness, but Doc Ock isn't exactly a character that's iconic for smiling a bit much, if anything Hot Toys should have given him a more serious and angry face, since not only he is more known for that in Spider-Man 2, but in No Way Home he was remarkably grumpy one thing I have to say about the custom sculpt tho is that his expression is a bit way too neutral for posing around with the tentacles, maybe a little bit of frown and grumpyness on the mouth area should be enough, kinda similar to Hasbro's Alfred Molina sculpt
Great head sculpt. A lot much better than Hoot Toys! And you are correct the paint is much better! Glasses are great too. Hot toys needs to stop slacking off! These figures are getting more expensive every year. So better head sculpts better paint and real leather when required is a must!!
I didn't have a huge problem with the HT sculpt. Pop the glasses on and bob is your uncle. W/o the glasses...yea I can see justification for some of the critizism. I did the express on the stock sculpt vs custom but nice pick up. Thanks as always for the vid!

And I saw that again when he said "there you go" in nwh after nullifying Electro. I guess that's what I'm looking for. However, this is a million times better than what Hot Toys gave us!
Nothing is worse than having a collection where you're like "except the head on that one" or "the jacket on that one". Now you don't have to settle for good enough, 3rd party alternative fixes should be a collector's dream come true and customers of Hot Toys or other high end collectables shouldn't be gate keeping mediocrity but rather embracing a way to make your collection complete.
Im willing to bet the bad criticism comes from the ones not willing to pay what custom work costs nowadays. They dont want or cant afford it so the easiest thing to do is call it horrible. A headsculpt goes from 150 to 250 usd, paint job around 260 and rooting, if made right 280-300 usd. Lets say 750 usd for a finished original headsculpt, rooted. If you take a hottoys headsculpt as a base then you only paint for paint job and rooting, it all depends🎉
Something tells me hot toys didnt have the rights to Molina's face, because the marvel legends one had to use the Spider-Man 2 name even tho it was clearly from NWH. Because the Hot Toys one, yes, looks like Doc Ock, but not Alfred Molina if that makes sense, the custom, looks excellent.
I ordered this head today. I think it was the last one he had because he only made 20. Now I’m waiting on the glasses guy to reply. Hopefully he can make me the glasses.
It looks really good. But for 400 USD, with all due respect to the good head sculpt, the paint job and the work that goes into it.... Unfortunately a bit too expensive for me. Even if she's worth it.
