In this video, we have with us our rocking host Mr. Vivek Bajaj, co-founder of StockEdge and Elearnmarkets, in conversation with Mr. Gomathi Shankar.
Mr. Gomathi Shankar, (Founder & CEO, Scalpers Trading Academy, Chennai) is a full-time trader and trainer skilled in Price Action Trading with more than 7 Years of experience in Financial Markets. In this video, our guest speaker will talk about profitable options trading with the help of CPR Pivot System. He will discuss various subtopics that are a part of the CPR Pivot system such as CPR indicators, formula, characteristics, and types of CPR.
In the second part, he discusses options selling and the various factors that need to be kept in mind when we are using both of them together. He also explains if we should buy or sell an option. This is followed by the analysis of historical chart data with CPR, which is an essential part of this topic.

Can ypu pls show cpr settings as I am getting vertically dotted lines on the candles and chart is very un clear because of the dots on the candles.. The cpr shown here in vdo is different than what I am getting

When CPR is concerned two of the masters are Vikram Prabhu Sir & Gomathi Sir. Both of them are just splendid in educating it though they have seperate strategies on the same CPR. Watching them both teaching on CPR is a real retreat for traders like us. Gomathi sir is done here, waiting for Prabhu sir to come & enlighten us in day trading. 🔥

It's beautiful how sir asks questions and seeks clarifications. Example, no significance of narrow or wide CPR for executing this strategy. Just shows how passionate listener he is. Guest lecturer is awesome, very humble!
Last year during lock down when I restarted trading I had practiced CPR after watching Gomati sir's videos.. but since I found success in option selling, especially in straddle and strangle, somehow CPR fell apart from my armoury.. after watching this video it looks like this strategy is tailor made for someone like me.. As usual Mr. Vivek Bajaj is awesome in asking the questions. Thanks. However I am following Mr Gomati Shankar since many days. Infact I'm using KGS CPR indicator for my CPR based trades. I'm a big fan of him. I read Secret of Pivot boss aswell. However I think Mr Gomati would have explained what exactly the CPR means in a better way.
1. CPR represents the Psychology of the previous trading session.
2. CPR acts as a Magnet. It attracts the price back to its range. So it acts as a strong resistance or support. Wide CPR means strong S & R and narrow CPR means weak S & R. in case of Narrow CPR traders try to find the new value and that is the reason for trending market.
3. CPR is a leading indicator. I can plan my entry, exit well in advance. I just have to look for the price action on those pivot levels.

If the day has a wide CPR, at which levels would the market rebound? PP, TC, BC?
@@YoungxAlpha Central Pivot is considered as a strong support or resistance. However in Secret of Pivot boss book, Franklin Ochoa has mentioned about Double pivot. Say if TC is clashing with weekly Pivot, then TC will become strong support or resistance.

Mr. Gomathi Shankar is a very humble guy. The word CPR(Central Pivot Range) is coined by him only for Indian market. The "cpr" goes by some other name and is developed by Frank Ochoa and well explained in his book "Secret of a pivot Boss". Thanks Vivek ji for this lovely f2f..

Great Video!! Though one practical issue is Margin required still remains around 1.5 Lacs as Brokerage Firms like Zerodha does not allow OTM option buying even for hedged positions. So margin practically required is far more than what mentioned in the video.

You have to keep full amount for trade, but you can buy after selling....per trade margin will be less....but you have keep the full money.
Very good analysis and presentation of cpr. I also follow cpr for my most of the trade. But I think there are very few or small capital investor may follow it. Because profit and loss ratio is 1Is to one.

you are right. I have learnt the hard way before but end up blowing over $6000 acct trading with no mentor or expert. So I won't advice anyone doing same. It's best you get an expert.

I suggest the adjustments in different way rather booking the losses.
Suppose Sell @ 34700 at Rs. 170 and Buy @34400 at Rs.100.
If market reverses and reach around @34700... Step 1) Book the profit in Buy Leg @34400 - Which would be approx 100+ points profit Step 2) buy new put @34500. which looks costlier but at the end of week expiry if Market fell below 34500, You still loose only 30 points without any further adjustments. This can also be saved.. by making another bull Spread below or Bear Spread.
Making profit from Market is all about adjustment daily....

At Monday, the price of option at the strike price which is 50% mid way between CPR and prev week high or R1, is very low, around Rs.130 and the strike price 300 points above that is around Rs.100. So at the end of week, the max profit I can make is around 30x25=750, best case scenario. Realistically around Rs.500- 600 per week per lot. Am I missing something ?
Exactly it's very low
600Rs per week with a margin of 30000 is 2%.
Which is aprox 50% a year. (Every week 2%).
If u r saying this is low, i don't know wat is the greed and expectations.
Trust me. This is the safety option selling strategy for a beginner.
U need to start with 5 lots to enjoy it.

The concept is open to public now. You can tweak the strategy to get best results out of it. Generally, by adjustments you can be a winner. If your stoploss hits, roll your position with double the quantities and then converting into iron condor and then on expiry converting into a iron fly.

I tried backtesting for the last two months 50% trades hit stop loss.. Though most of the time index never came close to the option sold. I think stop loss should be related to levels rather than fixed stop loss because any 100points +/- on the next day will throw me out of the trade.
Video looks impressive but even I backtested and found SL hit in recent months . If anyone going to take trade please backtest it.
Yes, part three weeks this doesn't worked as first hourly candle and end of hourly candle did not respected the CPRs.
And now it will happen frequently due to new margin rules. because IVs will be higher and ur sl will hit any time despite the strategy showing a profit on expiry day.
That's how all elearn market videos are. Impressive in 1 hr, but reality sucks!!!

Personally I feel these f2f videos are way too long. If vivek sir cuts some formality, the videos can easily be done in 40-45mins. Some viewers leave by just seeing it's over an hour long.
