According to Article 15(1), Article 15 (3) and Article 21 states that there shall be no discrimination and women have right to wear clothes according to their choice.

College rule book says girls can wear hijab if it is same colour as uniform. I don’t think saffron is same as uniform. Any way hindu girls and boys wear bindi and tilak. No Muslims have protested about it.

I did my schooling from a convent school & it was very particular about religious as well cultural symbols. For girls , no mehndi, bindi or bangles were permitted inside premises of school,for boys no dhaghas on hand , Only for Sikh students metal bracelet ( kada) was permitted ( not even for Hindu Punjabis & Sindhis) .For sikh students Turban must be of same colour of trousers ( which was grey) . I still remember i was send home because I wore black turban

The school has a uniform for everyone regardless of what religion you follow. If proper uniform is not there, access to school premises will not be authorized whatsoever. Every student in India no matter what religion don't wear religious clothes at school. The reason uniforms where there was to make students feel they are on the same level as everyone and no one can differentiate between a rich student and a poor student.

School and colleges must not allow any religious dress irrespective of any religion. If the parents feel religious dress code is more important than studies, they are free to discontinue their children from attending schools.
