iPhone XS can zoom in 10x since it has a second lens that acts as a telephoto camera iPhone 11 only has one main camera and cannot zoom in as much as the xs. The second lens is for wide angle pictures only. So in simple terms, iPhone XS: has dual lens that can zoom 10x but no wide iPhone 11: has dual lens but one is only used as a main lens therefore cannot zoom in as much as the xs, but has another lens for wide angle which the xs does not have.
