- Caitlin Clark finished with 20 PTS (4 3PM) and 3 AST in her WNBA debut, while NaLyssa Smith had 13 PTS, 9 REB and 2 BLK, but the Fever fell to the Sun 92-71 in their season opener on Tuesday night.

This offense didn't run through Clark, anytime she got the ball and was double teamed she didn't receive any help, her teammates were at a standstill, the coaching made no adjustments, and the defense was abysmal, starting to understand why Indiana has been in the lottery for years

They definitely need a new head coach. Maybe Staley or Mulkey want to come to the pros?

how good is CC, she was guarded the whole game and still dropped 20 points. she is a beast and will avg. 25 to 30 points a game
I mean 20 points is not hard to get when you shoot 15 times but OK plus you got 10 turnovers and four fouls not impressive to me
They obviously gonna rely on her to win games so i get why she gotta put up stats and turnovers come with that too but she can put up any numbers she wants. End of the day, they are meaningless if they don't win the game.

@@mikelipke9404 six of those 20 points came from the free throw line so really she scored 14 from shooting 5-15 and 10 turnovers and 4 fouls and 2 in the first quarter. If a player does a bad job, I’m gonna say so I’m not a dick rider like you who will say anything to justify someone’s bad performance just because you like them my favorite players Angel Reese if she has a bad game I’ll say it which rarely happens but I will say something I look at percentages And Caitlyn‘s was horrible tonight. 10 turnovers is 20 points that’s the difference in the game so it ain’t the team‘s fault. It’s Caitlyn‘s fault that she got those 10 turnovers and shot horribly. I’m not saying the team did any better than Kaitlyn they all did bad. Y’all always trying to blame other people before you blame Caitlyn take accountability hopefully she does. Rookie, Vet doesn’t matter. I’m gonna say if she has a bad game or not.
While CC had some bad passes her teammates moved like pond water, the offense was stagnant and defense was no better. The refs were horrible to say the least but these women lost the game with horrible play. When they practice against the men it needs to be 100% not the 50% I keep seeing.

20 points on her professional debut is an excellent start for CC. She almost had 32 points but ultimately was 5 behind LeBron James, 6 behind Magic Johnson, 9 behind Jabbar and 10 behind Iverson. Larry Bird also had 10 turnovers in 1979 and he went on to be one of the greatest. CC is already the greatest NCAA player male or female, she’ll be fine at home with the fans behind her and with the pressure off now she’s made her debut. Also worth a mention the arena was sold out because oh Clark. In my country we had live blogs on all our major news sites, on and off the court the Clark effect is in full effect.

0 defense, poor boxing out, a zillion turnovers, a slow team, poor player movement without the ball, a coach that doesn't challenge a clear call in their favor and makes no in game adjustments to help the team, overall the team is slow. That was a terrible watch.

I understand that Caitlin is an elite passer. However, after watching these three Fever games, it looks like there are vets out there who are watching her teammates cutting and anticipating Clarks passes. Between veteran defenders anticipating CC's passes, and their speed getting to those passes, CC is a turnover machine. I don't believe she has defenders on the practice squad that are fast enough for CC to get the timing she needs. If she can only learn this from games, it will be a really tough learning curve. The other observation over these three games is that I thought Boston would be more able to score, but her point production is low. I'm wondering if they are getting enough challenge from the male practice squad to make them sharp enough on offense. They might be holding back too much in practice.
5 of the turn overs were her teams fault & there inability to catch or even move.
Watch all the standing around. Have Caitlin set a screen and them have someone screen for her. It gets everyone involved and moving.

They need some bread and butter play for easy points, and that's Clark. It's really looking like college bball players are way more quicker and agile than WNBA would have us believe, and it seems Clark is being slowed down because her teammates can't keep up. Iowa played up tempo so defenders can't harrass Clark and opposing teams won't have time to set up. Fever have to be faster so they don't fall into opposing teams' game plan of defending hard and fouling out Clark and team, and for her to get clean shots like Curry does. But 20 pts for a debut game is beyond expectations when her teammates aren't scoring well either. Looking forward to better plays and adjustments. Go, Fever!

It'll only get worse if there isn't a coaching change & a couple of lazy players. It doesn't iron out & return to normal without drastic changes to this organization.
Sides needs to let CC play her game and stop suppressing her! Telling her not to throw 3’s but pass the ball and try to do 2’s, come on! Plus, Sides never helped with the bad calls from refs. Sides needs to stop putting CC down during a press conf, along with any other player, very unprofessional!! CC is a rookie and she will find her grove, if the negative coach gets out of her head!! SIDES NEEDS TO GO!!!!!

2:14 it's crazy that she rushes back to the edge to get a riskier 3 pointer, just to try to save her team. She should never be put in that position by her coach and team.

The coaching is… something
Wnba is just not ready for this moment. They don't realize they have a meal in ticket. They instead think Caitlin is just bringing people to see them. At a bar tonight, game was on, buddy says oh it's Clark's first game... I said yeah but she's on the bench with two tacky fouls. He said, ah. What time is the hockey game. Lol.

Too early to judge but the Indiana Fever may need a coach like Mike D'Antoni. He is a mastermind when it comes to (point-guard) offense

The only thing the Fever needs to do is fire the coach, which will happen if she does not get that team together. Caitlin was able to get her 20 points tonight when she stop hesitating and started taking over. She has to stop letting that envious gossip get to her and play her game. That arena was sold out to see Calrk tonight and that was in another city. Yet, she looked as though she was back at IOWA, carrying the entire team. In the first half, she was holding back trying to get her teammates involved.

Yes she is lazy and out of shape and seems heavy and can’t run and she is not scoring much! I was upset at the other three veterans out front tonight as they all sucked! They dribble around a lot but do nothing! Oh gosh it’s going to be a rough year!

Caitlin will be OK, however defense is harder to play than offense that's why nobody likes to do it, indiana was constantly out of defensive position, a team CAN win with turnovers but not without stopping the other team.
CC needs help but the reaction were very slow that cause her turnovers. Her teammates need to come to the ball not just wait the pass from CC. No chemistey, no teamwork , and no adjustment.
Your coach should be fired she's terrible. Who hired that fool?
So this Fevers coach is so shallow, petty and jealous that she will sabotage her team in just to sandbag CC. How does that benefit the coach or the Fever? Maybe CC is not quite making the transition from college superstar to just another one of the pros.

Not impressed with Clark at all in this game. Horrible 1st half. She had like what 2 points. Turned the ball over like 10 times in this game. But then again the sun did a good job on Defense on her.

If they defended her like they do other guards she would put up 40 points. She gets doubled ever screen which is how she had all the turn overs. Coach made zero adjustments

Coach is awful doesn't know how to coach a great phenom,, she needs to be replaced now. Boston & Wheeler need to be traded. Boston is slow slow & lazy, Wheeler is overpaid & was freezing CC out. CC must be pissed off, especially coming from a fast paced Iowa team & good coach.
